that was badly drawn boy on his first album. the about a boy soundtrack too. after that, i think he just figured, as you say, strings and a horn section were good enough.
Seriously, thanks to you just mentioning WL in the post about the Crazy Train cover, I've had the fucking guitar solo from Wait in my head all day. YOU DID THIS TO ME.
one of the best shows i've ever been to in my life was phish in 1997. i'm not sure if it was great because i was on mdma, mushrooms, and a hell of a lot of unbelievably good weed, or if the band was great, but still, memories. also, the dude sitting next to me snuck in a three foot bong. to this day i'm impressed he got it past security.
Agreed, dear blochead, but in the spirit of peaceful discourse, all those bands you mentioned were capable of and did in fact record a few boring, uninspired songs. This one by Prodigy, who I've loved in the past, sounds, at least in my opinion, to be of that ilk.
i dl'd the first 'lost album' that got rave reviews on pitchfork because i was told how incredible it was in that review. it was just awful. haven't bothered with the others.
Madonna fan since Like A Virgin. American Life is easily her worst album, a horrendous pile of shit. How any record exec could hear it and say 'Sure, let's put this out as is!' speaks to how much clout and goodwill she had at the time.
