One of my favorite releases this year.
Sounds like Foster The People more than anything, think "Best Friend"
Really one of the best responses I've seen on here!
Prime Time Of Your Life :)
Definitely the first thing that came to mind.
I imagine you're quite happy today :)
Definitely the first song that came to mind, one of my favorites!
Nice to see you Leland, were you hanging at One Eyed Jacks that night too?!
Thank you for mentioning Mike Doughty on here!
Well, until the Avalanches come back, this'll do - perfect for a late night drive - reminds me of the Avalanches "Yoga Mind Meld Zombie Relaxation Tape": http://grooveshark.com/s/Relaxation+Tape/3RpsDG?src=5
Honestly it seemed like a tip of the hat to LCD Soundsystem's Trials & Tribulations video, but I guess that's just me
2 songs now with "michael jackson thriller" as a lyric, first coming from Farrah Fawcett Hair by Capital Cities - ehhh, poor lyrics all around
Sorry for not following, but aren't those both Wallflowers tracks?
What is so different about it? The chorus is just repeated again and again...
The Eiffel 65 statement was a joke, since DP influenced them and not the other way around, but alright, I'll take the 2 down-votes :P
Are we all sure this isn't a new Eiffel 65 album in disguise?! Lose Yourself To Dance might be one of the most annoying songs to date by anyone. Beyond, Motherboard, Contact, parts of Giorgio By Moroder and Touch, that's what I would have liked for the whole album, but oh well - Doin' It Right could have been much better without any DP vocoder
what about this? http://theworldisdaft.wordpress.com/2010/03/19/a-time-has-come-to-make-a-decision/
Yes, definitely! I always find myself hearing elements of Twin Peaks everywhere I go, but this is probably the closest to something that sounds directly from it - Angelo Badalamenti can do no wrong - I guess Anthony also ;)
Not bad, especially towards the end! - not sure what you mean by Conan's voice though, it sounded normal to me
RIP - Always brought it loud and funky
Smart man to have Carla Azar as his permanent drummer
I'm sure you're aware of this, but they posted a message on their Facebook/website saying they'd prefer if no videos were shown, as they are demoing the songs still: http://deathfromabove1979.com/one-night-only/ I'm guilty of checking them out though and can't wait to hear them finished!
Just so you guys know, as I said on the last post about IO Echo, they have 2 other EP's out: Self titled from 2007: Addicted, Stalemate, I'm On Fire, Pixels, Beware, Enter To Exit http://www.discogs.com/IO-Echo-IO-Echo/release/3079191 +++ from 2009: Doorway, While You Are Sleeping, Severance, I Want You
No love for this track? Seriously catchy song - definitely know why he was with Yeasayer - will definitely be picking up his album!
This one always made me laugh: http://image.maniadb.com/images/album/645/645667_1_f.jpg
Am I the only one who thinks this sounds like Say My Name?
sites like Seeqpod (which was bought out by Microsoft) and GrooveShark fall under the same category, but they gathered from blogs and uploaded content - GS is still around, but ad based and slower - I'll use Spotify in lieu of sampling on Amazon now, but for nothing else.
just so everyone knows, because I love being the bearer of amazing news, this tour is going on: http://summerlandtour.net/
Definitely up for this anytime!
I recommend listening to their EP's as well - great stuff, and they're amazing live! Here is a track from their 2007 EP: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4y1VvMgvPiU
They were a pretty solid live show when I saw them open for Fischerspooner, but the product placement in this video was pretty revolting.
I like the majority of the album - others I wish were instrumental, but I'll be coming back to it.
