Their first album is so underrated it's a pity. This single is announcing a great 2nd one.
everythin related to FUN. sucks. Everything related to fun is great.
you had me at "one of the members of the violators". Beautiful track.
Oh no, why is Fun. in the tracklist ? The line-up was almost perfect :(
Well at least the comedy is over now, no more "we hate mainstream/majors but we do a clip produced by MTV and get a contract with Epic records", no more "Let's put out a mixtape with a dick on the cover to get some media coverage and piss off our label", no more "let's make people watch a fake show with no one on stage when they payed to see us", and "let's cancel our tour cause fuck this we don't owe anyone anything". I'm pretty sure even though they disrespected their fans until the end, those fans are gonna clap and buy into the whole "oh it's an art project so it all makes sense for us to be treated like morons".
This band is still as great as they were when they started (and they never got soft or cheesy, which is kinda rare for an experimental pop band). Hope to see them live soon, they don't come to europe very often ...
Funny how so many people point out the corny trailer but not the corny song. (downvote all you want, but I had to say it)
Kinda sad she apologized for that (if she really said it) cause it's just true. Beyoncé's fans are pretty blind since she is being portrayed as the most "influential" (if that even means a thing) "independant" woman on earth. Her songs and videos (and her appearances with Jay-Z on stage) become more and more sexist, showing her as some kind of sextoy. I guess she plays on both sides, she can be the wealthy independant woman, but when it comes to her husband, she's like a moaning doll doing everything he pleases. Not that I care about their life, but let's not be blind on that, just cause "Beyoncé's the best/most beautiful woman on earth/untouchable"
Now let's do the whole thing, just cancel RSD and let artist release limited edition whenever they want. At least it's gonna get attention from music fans and not greedy re-sellers. Cause if we gotta have a RSD full of people never buying music and just there to get limited editions (often just shitty reissues or fancy picture disc of the same album that cost 5$ on sale, or just the single of the next album of an artist who wouldn't make it limited edition if RSD didn't exist), like the people I saw this year in the two record stores I went to, then what's the point. Or just make a RSD without any limited edition releases. At least people will come to celebrate record stores, not celebrate getting the most limited editions of the day, cause they ran between places to then show off on facebook/instagram/twitter (or worst, just sell what they don't care about on Ebay). All in all, it's difficult to deny Record Store Day is becoming the exact opposite of that it wanted to be: a day where people don't care so much about the record stores than their little collections, a christmas for re-sellers, and for the record stores owners I know, kind of a sad day, seeing those people won't come back until next day.
that photo + that song = creepiest girl of the week.
Clearly one on the most refreshing on the list of UK british pop singers these past years. No Jessie Ware too ...
I know that, I was being sarcastic. it's just Beck's speech sounded like "yeah go to the bar next to your house, you'll maybe get the next arcade fire or the black keys". I mean it's the case for people living in big cities that's all.
Ok so "that little bar down your house" is just called a venue Beck. The little bar down my house plays the radio and closes at 11pm. Or maybe he was talking about living in Brooklyn ...
"The song is up for sale on iTunes" Oh so the guy wanna make money off a parody of "Copy of A" ? Well funny or not, that's just wrong. I'm not sure Trent will laugh at that ...
So much hate for just stating the facts. You don't have to cancel a gig cause you don't have your props to make it more concept/weird etc. I'm not saying it's a good thing they got their bobblehead stolen, I'm saying come on, stop acting like someone stole your instruments. There have been many stories of indie bands who got their gear stolen, and bands that weren't able to play cause they don't have the money to buy new instruments in the middle of a tour. Now read that news again: "Our bobblehead's essential to our show". Nothing bugs you ? I'm starting to realize any kind of criticism towards this band is forbidden on this website. And I'm saying that, having their first 3 albums in my apartment, so it's not like I'm "trolling". Anyway, have fun defending anything Arcade Fire says and does forever ...
"that is an essential component to our live show." no, instruments are. musicians are. Bobbleheads aren't.
Damn this audience. Looks like SXSW is really a "stare at your phone and nod your head gently" contest.
"explains grammy diss: "I was really drunk" " is really confusing for a title. He wasn't drunk at the grammys (or at least he didn't say), he was drunk during another show. The title suggests he was drunk at the grammy, and that he was the one doing the diss. He didn't have anythin to do with that, it was Reznor. So really, take care with your choice of words. (Or maybe hide it better if you wanna make the article more "buzz-friendly")
so now we gotta call him J-Cas ? Damn, I'm so outdated with my "Julz".
He could have also asked "Why asking for people to kickstart the project so late ? Don't you have enough money to release it ?" (yeah I'm gonna post about that in EVERY news about Pono => )
There's so little information about this. I read on Pitchfork it's got 128 Gb storage, which seems little when you have high quality Flac files. Then you got artists saying this was "the best experience they had eveeerr" but we don't know what music they listened to, what headphones they had etc ... And now there's a kickstarter. I mean, really ? Neil freaking Young has not enough money and wants us to buy in before launch for a "thank you" or a t-shirt unless you got 200$ to spend on a bet ? Is it just because they're afraid it's gonna crash and burn and they want to avoid losing too much money ? We'll see if the "revolution" happens, but this method is really not making anythin to get my trust.
I can't choose who I love more in this band. Already fell in love few years ago @ Primavera. Perfect performance, Theresa is great as lead singer.
She definitely loves the Oculus Rift. And her hair.
I have mixed feelings about this video. It's sexist, but also so funny. And the track is great.
So many negative reviews on this album, I mean, it's just a band suffering. We really needed this statement to clarify why he's not a dork. Sayin "no comment" or "I don't care" would have been so much harder. ... Mwah ah ah ah ah.
And don't listen to it on shuffle mode too : ) After a few listens, it sounds like they took an even more atsmopheric approach, even more Radiohead-ish sometimes, a bit of Massive Attack also, but mosly Warpaint-ishly great. Also, if you have any chance of seeing them live, buy a ticket now. They're incredible.
Paracosm is great but Washed Out live is still boring, even more with a full band of bored hipsters.
Ok so if I get it right, The walkmen are playin whenever there's some event they feel they need to participate to ? That's some weird hiatus.
Why bring Aubrey Plaza to play sax if her part is buried in the mix ? damn, I waited the whole song to hear a tiny sax track in the back ... Anyway the song is a funny sunny moment, so there's that. (And Aubrey Plaza, doin nothing for 3 min, is still mesmerizing)
"Look, I got shit loads of money and I'm not afraid to show it ... Oh wait, I forgot, merry christmas and STAY PUNK".
Kanye is the biggest snake beatin his tail in the music world. Makes me laugh and annoys me depending on the day.
I'd say, ok, the guy is really annoying as a rapper (even in Community, he was ok at first, but got annoying fast) but when you have to write the news, you keep opinion to yourself, or at least you try to !
it's a pity she chose one of the weakest song of the album. Still a good performance (she seems a bit nervous though)
Greta Gerwig dancing on Afterlife with kids jumping like school is over, Win Butler mocking Kanye, Odd Future playing in a fake tiny club, Lena Dunham writing an Avicii video that looks just like a classic Girls episode (whinning egotistical unemployed middle class people). God, is it a crime if I use the word "hipster party" this time ? Cause I got nothing better.
steal* a vinyl. Sorry, just wakin up =>
Maybe people would have backed Yannis if he didn't sound like a douche since his first interview. But even if he was a nice guy, saying you should buy a vinyl and stop using spotify is like saying you should play music et stop listening to it. That's just insane/stupid nonsense. Also, I use spotify, I buy vinyls, cds, and t shirts, and I wouldn't buy more without the use of spotify.
Radiohead is not in the top ten, and Arctic Monkeys get a better place. This shit is just trolling.
wait, I checked with my opinion, he said "yes"
