Yea, The Spin list seems more accurate than Stereogums list. What has the world come to.
I was totally expecting early on in the season that the finale would finally see Ned Stark have to take on Drogo. Man did I have this show Pegged wrong.
LCD Soundsystem – “Drunk Girls”? That was the big song of last summer? I think not. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but it had no where near the widespread play and recognition of any of the other songs on that list. I would think it would be something like The Arcade Fire - The Suburbs, which was All over the place. That single came out in May of last year and took off. And then this year, your song choices all seem wrong. I don't know anyone who is kind of out of the musical loop talking about these songs, much like people did with Lisztomania, Electric Feel, Crazy or D.A.N.C.E... I think the song of the summer would probably be either "Tune-yards - Bizness", which is taking off huge now and has the makings of a big fun summer song, "The Vaccines - All In White", or Maybe even "Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand". I know Duck Sauce has been huge with that song for like 6+ months now, but it is still going strong and has that perfect summer vibe, much like D.A.N.C.E
A DIRE WOLF IS NO PET!

Haha, well said. I was reading this review thinking, this is way too positive (despite the oddly worded first paragraph) for stereogum. Seeing as how they lashed out at the "mainstream, over-hyped" arcade fire in that joke of a double take, I'm sure someone will come back with their thick rimmed glasses and explain why this album actually is garbage. I started reading stereogum because it wasn't pitchfork, but have pretty much stopped because they are trying to hard to become that.
haha, I dig me some radiohead, i don't think they have made a bad album. I just get tired of the fervent obsessive screaming from radio heads that we saw when In Rainbows came out, every week just radiohead, radiohead, radiohead. I think if those fans, regardless of bands, are so annoying. Get it with Animal collective also... I will be looking forward to this album the day it comes out, and expect great things.
Here we go again... BEST ALBUM OF FOREVER? YEA, DURH!
Yea, Wolf Parade? They just came out and said they are taking time apart. I'd be shocked if we didn't see another Wolf Parade Album in the next 5 years. Didn't expect that on the list.
No Romance is Boring is a crime. my #4 album of the year, the thing is fantastic. And no Local Natives? I know it got released in some back alley at the very end of last year, but wasn't an offical 2010 us release till like february or something. I didn't really hit into them till May. So they are my #3 album of 2010.
Perfect Situation is such an underrated weezer classic. just about as good as anything they have done before it, despite how much people like to shit on that album.
yea, they have been a band as long as the beatles, But consider Beatles song catalog is about ten times deeper than the Arcade Fire, it also shows they have many more albums they should do if that is their standard. and its not like any of those guys retired. they all put out solo albums. Even RINGO!
could someone pleas make a "Firin My Lazers" Gif of that? It would kind of be amazing.
Yea, People are starting to rip the Pompalmoose multi-frame style off left and right... And technically they took it from Alaska in Winter... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAq6VIjak-8&feature=related
I'm one of the lucky few that can say I have actually seen a test screening of this movie, and let me assure you all. This movie is pretty amazing, and many of you are right about looking forward to it more than any other movie this year. Its pretty awesome. much more in the Edgar Wright line of films than the typical Cera film. Its fantastic.
Wow, This version makes me realize how much this song sounds like "Under Pressure"... or is that just me?
