Tom was planning on writing this week's Status Ain't Hood on the upcoming Ben Howard album, but then Invasion of Privacy was announced and, well, here we are.
You know, when I first heard the Cardi B album, I said to myself "This is truly the Wondrous Bughouse of rap albums" and lo and behold, Pitchfork agrees.
This is such a stunningly successful combination of A Crow Looked At Me-type lyrical content with the more elaborate instrumentation of his other records. Hot dog, I am excited, please put out new records around my birthday every year, Phil.
I can understand this opinion, but, yes, you may well be alone. Funny thing is, the music of Phil Elverum can teach us that being alone is okay, albeit frequently painful. But that's just a lesson you'll have to learn elsewhere, my friend.
Seems like just saying "I denounce white supremacy" would be a quicker and easier way to prove you're not a white supremacist than suing someone who said you were a white supremacist. But hey, maybe that's why I'm not a millionaire pop star!
What Tim said. Like, I feel like the folks in here complaining didn't read the apology? Because it addresses basically all their complaints? It's an apology directly to the people at the show for cutting it off early, which, man, it was only two songs early. Priests songs aren't that long! That's only $3 lost value proposition at most.
She also notes that she's had much worse stuff yelled at her and that there were other factors making the set non-ideal, so it seemed very much just a straw breaking the camel's back situation. Just seems like a weird hill to die on, backing up obnoxious hecklers. And besides...Priests rule.
Victims waiting years until they feel strong or safe enough to speak out isn't uncommon at all, the implication that they might have been high doesn't excuse anything , and using the phrase "dumped off" as evidence against her claim is an enormous stretch. C'mon, man.
