i think she could hand this record out for free and still go platinum.
That's harsh. I could hear maybe someone like Maroon 5, but the production is way more intricate and progressive than that. I like it.
Ha, this actually took more people out of it than an iphone would have. I could have sworn it was meant to represent the time of the break-up, hence an older phone.
Exactly. The whole thing, from the flip phones to the sepia filter to the wind machines are a throw back to I'm guessing late 90s/early 2000s or whenever this relationship may have been. It's a very subtle, brilliant touch. Adele is a legend.
This is a great song. This is a weird video.
I love all of their records a ton and I do think that Currents is their masterpiece.
Sorry, I have no idea what's happening rn. This was my reply... Totally agree about ROS and It’s funny that you mentioned SFIJ, cause I think that’s the better Alanis album. People prefer the somewhat kitschy nostalgia stuff from those artists, but those are other records are legit great and stand the test of time pretty well.
Oops, the below comment was a reply to you. I grew up in a really conservative household, and I remember coming home with the CD… my mom examining it and seeing “Sunpist” on the back and scolding me. I kept the album but it stayed in my collection along with Alanis’ SFIJ (remember the nude CD art?) as albums not to touch as they were “bad”. “Return of Saturn” was my real No Doubt epiphany… damn that album is underrated.
That's exactly what I like about her voice.

No Doubt was my high school obsession. I think I saw them 30 times between 1996 and 2001, easily. Half of my closest friends as an adult are kids I met at ND shows. I agree about the singles still being totally kick ass and everything else being really really questionable. I actually was way more into Return of Saturn, and as someone else mentioned that is the much better record. Rock Steady was fun, but not as fun as TK or as strong as ROS.
7/4 Shoreline. KC Accidental. All of their songs.
But he literally said "kids these days" ...ok, he said "some of these young kids" but pretty damn close. No one is saying his opinion is invalid because he's old. His opinion is invalid because he is calling an extremely talented songwriter a "talentless prick" because he sampled something on a mixtape. This implies a certain level of dismissiveness and not at all thinly veiled hostility towards hip hop that has become pretty common among older male (mostly white) musicians. I don't think it's racism, per se, but definitely bigotry towards young, black culture.
I liked Take Me To Church. I just didn't need to hear it 500 times.
So not only is she that person that just CANNOT WAIT for the rows in front of her to rightfully exit first, but she is also that person that doesn't think she's doing anything wrong when she's being the absolute worst. She also spits on and punches you. K.
The headline is a total stretch, but what I have read is that Kim actually wasn't OK with this situation and Kanye is the one that convinced her to accept it and support it. He definitely could have avoided this encounter if he had a problem with it.
My bad. I had no idea these bands had shared members. They sound completely different to me.
Whirr and Deafheaven is a really strange comparison to make.
I really enjoyed Kiss Land as well, but something about it felt like a watered down version of the mixtapes. A lot of that rawness and even mystique that you could hear in the songs was gone, but I still thought it was very very good. "Often" felt like a little bit of a mini comeback for me (not in popularity but quality) and I think everything since and the changes in style have been really great. Can't Feel My Face is the best of both worlds.
I think Nicki was referring specifically to past nominees/winners who have been sexual in their videos (Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, etc.). It had nothing to do specifically with the current list of nominees or Taylor Swift, from my understanding.
I even kinda feel like he was singing randomly on Tuesday. I don't really like his parts on it and just wish it was a Drake song.
Partial refund on an order they cancelled? Wth??
I was 12 years old when this record came out, was completely obsessed with it and I haven't listened to it in so many years, but just reading a quote of that lyric from "Right Through You" gave me chills. I was brought back to that time instantly. This one sticks with you.
This is a live version of a pretty challenging song, so there may be some imperfect moments in this video. If you haven't listened to the album, I definitely recommend it. I think it's one of the best songs of last year.
Definitely not. It has the words "live" in parenthesis after the title in the very beginning.
The same reason it is hard to score a goal against Neuer.
The headline is just trying to be cute, not hyperbolic. It was a little low and to the left of the plate but cmon dude.
But that tweet about To Pimp A Butterfly being totally overrated IS SO BRAVE.
He usually doesn't do that at his shows. He played for 3+ hrs when I saw him, all full songs except for maybe 1.
Then it's probably scripted. I saw one before the Grammys on Hollywood Blvd and the interviewees were trying not to laugh.
Very little of this petition relates to his narcissism, which I would have at least understood. But it's blatantly anti-hip hop much like the petition for Jay-Z to be removed from the line-up in 2008.
These are totally fake, just like the Coachella vid. The names of the acts were edited in after, cause making fun of 'hipsters' is apparently still hilarious.
I agree with you. I'm not wearing rose colored glasses, in fact I wish he would stop making stupid comments and obsessing over this fashion stuff in general. When he lets his music speak for him, that's the best thing for everyone. LOL. I was just commenting specifically on the classism/price point thing. I know VERY little about it but I'm not sure if you can mass produce high quality clothing without a big company's help or a loss. At least that is what he's been saying again and again in interviews.
Yea? The only reason anyone would call it wussy is because he's a hip hop artist, and that implies that all of his stuff should be macho and misogynistic. If Marvin's Room were a D'Angelo song, would anyone even think to call it wussy for a second?
No one expects Croz to think Ye is one of the most talented people ever, but to say he has "no talent at all" is to deny an entire genre of music any credibility.
I hear what you're saying, especially about Drunk and Hot Girls and Barry Bonds (not that I didn't enjoy the f*ck out of those when I was blasting Graduation at parties), but calling them "garbage" or 808s mostly "awful" is a bit of a stretch. 808s was his biggest departure from hip hop so I think that is 90% of the negativity it received. Not sure how you can deny songs like Paranoid or Heartless. I even pulled up Hell of a Life just now to reevaluate and I have to disagree with you, especially when I think of its placement in the Runaway movie. I love Blueprint but it will never mean more to me than Graduation, an album that I literally wore out (the last cd I ever bought before I switched to mp3s). Sure, I know a lot of people who say his new stuff is terrible but Yeezus was my and a lot of other people's album of the year so that is obviously subjective. I don't think everything he's ever done is mind-blowing or that MBDTF is a perfect 10 (it's not) but saying he's "very good" is an understatement.
