what exactly stands as "stage presence" nowadays? In my case, I enjoy watching performances that catch your attention by ways of ideas, stories or emotional landscapes they convey. I like Lana's corkiness and vocal interpretations.. Her unembellished performances are just perfect for me.
That was awful Gabe... you DO know that sarcasm is a shielded form of RESENTMENT??? Let the girl alone... Yeez! I might stop reading Videogum if I continue to see such offensive articles..
From what I've read, people [not just you, don't get defensive] has critiziced EVERYTHING about LDR, not just her songs.
And it doesn't upset me that other people think differently, it upsets me that they feel the need to insult me for that. Sounds a lot like an abuse.
I was referring to the people who get a lot of enthusiasm crushing something down. Like my comments, and LDR. I was trying to express my view of how people through the use of this media have become even more intolerant than ever. All your comments are proof of that. If you think Intolerance is a positive value, then go ahead. Pretend I didn't say anything, Freshie.
What I'm saying is that people think it makes them "cool" or "hip" to criticize an artist, because that¿s the fashion nowadays. It's cool to say something is bad, non-satisfactory, ugly. But some people need to read a little bit more of rock music history. That which you believe so genuine and legitimate, barely is so. You have to remember that signing with a Record Label is nothing but doing business, and business people won't invest on something that will not give them a profit. There are some exceptions, but pretty much that's it. Lana del Rey sells. Period. Why? We don't know yet, we can guess, but these things are better analyzed in time. To think otherwise is a huge act to arrogance.
In my opinion, there's a lot of elements that make Lana attractive, appealing. I could type them all down right now, but that'll be just a subjective view and most people wont be interested in reading it.
What I'm saying is that people like you only criticize without putting much thought into it. You do it cause its easy, cause you're used to that. There's nothing genuine about that. I read the same things over and over. About LDR, about Justin Beiber, etc etc... It's boring!! and its thoughtless, cause you leave out a whole reality which gives a sense to the existance of these artists [or if you prefer, performers.]
I'm quite real. And people are very snobish. Typical attitude of bullied nerds who have nothing better to do than think themselves better than others by criticizing comments on the internet. Go get a life, GEEKS!
yeez. I'm so sorry I'm not smarter. But please!! Since you know so much, please tell us the reason for life! or some great mystery of the universe! God! I'm so lucky you just came into this virtual place to iluminate me!

Awwww... relax people! If it's not your thing, go on and let it be! I think it's a bit poppier than I would have predicted, but some of the world's greatest artists [or those more widely recognize] did pop music. That's cool. To each its own. I like Lana a lot. The best part is that I have no hell of a clue as to why.
And that make it even more addictive. I'm tired of intellectuality in music. I'm tired of pretentious people over-analizing everything.
I said. :)
Dont' get me wrong.. I absolutely adore her! She's got such an amazing charisma that is so hypnotic. I just wished she relaxed a bit and just let it flow more naturally.. she's got great talent.
he's not bad, actually... but I couldn't get through the whole of it. he seems pretty wired though, but I take it it might be his personality.. I guess? :S maybe?
