Magical Mystery Tour because it makes little sense and it's easy to love it because of it.
If this were my list, Condo Fuck's Fuckbook would've been ranked, somewhere in the middle I think.
the true meaning of 'mixtape' has now been lost, forever.
If it were a publicity stunt, it so coherent with the music that I truly don't mind.
that album cover begs for a caption contest.
Ah, it's hard to come up with an ironic gif when it comes to Big Star.
Hammer & Tongs deserve Michel Gondry's fandom and recognition. Great video output, specially the mind-bending video for REM's 'Imitation of Life'. And Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy and Son of Rambow are underrated gems.
The band doesn't really seem to 'endorse' the gold vinyl... https://twitter.com/grizzlybear/status/244095074366005248
Look at that! I need to call my mom.
Other than there's no way the Storytelling soundtrack is better than Fold Your Hands Child... I completely agree with this ranking.
Weingarten is the worst person ever. Cancelled my Spin subscription when he got hired.
Sorry Coxon purists, but my favorite Blur song is 'Out of Time'
they hinted at it almost two years ago, during the Dark Was The Night live thingy, and Clark confirmed the collaboration during promotion for Strange Mercy. A couple of months ago they said they had finished recording the whole album.
I was starting to feel I was the only Here We Go Magic fan in the world.
Dave: "... and together we are Wyld Stallyns!"
Domino just tweeted that's out September 3th.
I was so glad for the Bear ending up victorious against 1000TimesYes and the Gorilla.
Solid list, just missing WU LYF, or were they on 2010's list? Stereogum was certainly the first place in which I heard of them.
hadn't looked at it that way. great album.
going back and doing some nombers, Kurt Vile's name was dropped 10 times in the comments, while tUnE-yArDs 23. So no, we didn't miss her, you did.
somehow tUnE-yArDs got dissed again. it's my favorite album of the year.
A new Coldplay album, a new 'rip off' controversy http://undergroundnotes.tumblr.com/post/6142567836
I went straight to the source. Check out the Jagjaguwar page http://www.jagjaguwar.com/onesheet.php?cat=JAG135 And check out this tweet from Bon Iver's official twitter account http://twitter.com/#!/boniver/status/61082413324976128 It's clearly "Bon Iver, Bon Iver". I find it funny that every single mayor publication (Stereogum, P4K, Spin, even NY Times) misread the press release and refer to it as 'self-titled'. I mean, it's an easy mistake to make, but why hasn't anyone noticed it?
The album is actually titled Bon Iver, Bon Iver. That is, Bon Iver twice, separated by a coma. Bon Iver, Bon Iver, the new album by Bon Iver.
I'm also glad that the more comprehensive review returned. This one is particular good. But... The cool thing about Premature Evaluations are when they're done in albums that have actually leaked, IMHO. Not on albums you have received a promo copy of. Either way, nice review.
It said it was their debut on the first line. They corrected it and changed it to breakthrough. Sites should cross out corrections, not delete them. So that helpful commenters don't sound like crazy people later.
Hospice isn't their debut, it's actually their third.
I thought the whole concept behind their Premature Evaluations was to review the album when it leaked.
this is not half of it! this are the 7" versions!
I was surprised to see Kanye on the list.
Smith Westerns is called Dye It Blonde. Danielson is titled Best of Gloucester County.
Panda Bear's Tomboy + Avey Tare's Down There = Animal Collective's Speakerboxxx / The Love Below
