I agree it's fishy, but that description you gave could describe half of my tumblr feed.
I'm going to stick up for the artist (https://www.instagram.com/jabbathekid/) here. Yes, these two have a very similar aesthetic, but there's a whole faction of the internet making art in this style. I don't think the artist meant to plagiarize.
Why? isn't there more hype around this
I think it's a very rational response to be excited about this music.
Dirty Projectors breaking hearts on this one. I am hyped anew.
I will be there, but mostly to see Grimes tbh
Yes! KKB has always been amazing. My fav song of theirs is still "Picture This."
Yeah, I wasn't sure if that was some shade or not.
I just love everything about this. Super looking forward to the album, too. Also, is this the album artwork? Because I really hope this is the album artwork. http://cdn2.pitchfork.com/news/57796/71a0a515.jpg
This is the second video where XCX plays a high school student. Hope she's not getting Michael Cera'd.
Gist Is was so so great. They deserve all the praise.
I'm pretty sure I heard the line "My boner pressed up against your chest" in there. So, they're not THAT mature yet.
So is the Katy Perry one a joke? Because even for a lyric video, it's pretty boring and unattractive.
Well that was perfect. I'll be sure to backwards slide into my boss's lobster at our next business meeting.
I'm just smitten.
Love this and love John Grant. I'm just bummed Antony isn't involved this time around.
Right? That tUnE-yArDs video was so great! I thought for sure it'd make the list.
That sounded fucking great from the snippet.
I agree completely. Arcade Fire has always been about big cathartic payoffs at just the right time. Having a stadium full of 20 somethings all dressed up with lights strung from the ceiling and DJs made everything feel like prom. They actively tried to disorient their fans for the whole show. Everyone running back and forth between two stages where the band performed. I don't think there could have been a more beautiful moment than during that tempo change in "Wake Up" with confetti and streamers everywhere. It was a total party.
*learns this dance. dances in mirror forever.*
Am I the only one bothered by the line "I prefer your love to Jesus?" It's just really cheesy. That's my only scruple with the overall very solid album.
If this is what protesting looks like, I'm into it!
Album is good. It's very fitting that 2014 starts off with an album called After The Disco, seeing as 2013 was dominated by that genre.
Bolder, punchier, and more reflective of her live performance. If I wasn't already stoked for a new St. Vincent album, consider me double stoked.
Obsidian is in my top 5. I hear ya, man.
Besides some obvious skip-able songs, Artpop is pretty good. I don't see why it's getting panned, when it is certainly better than the shit show that was Born This Way. Do you REMEMBER how dumb that album art was?
Shit reads like a P!ATD song title. Just sayin'.
This is obviously satirical, so it's more of a social comment on others artists who are guilty of cultural appreciation. Why does she have to explain herself in any way, then?
Greta Gerwig was great in Frances Ha. <3
I have a feeling this is going to be AM!'s breakout album. They've always done raw and emotional, and now they can add super personal on top of that. Should be the ingredients for a fantastic release!
So, who was the girl in that cypher video? Did they forget to let her rap?
The songs on the back half are pulling all the weight for me. Those first few were cheese city.
Yeah. Where are "The Twist" and "My Backwards Walk?"
Looks like Icona Pop loves Paris is Burning as much as I do. This video is great.
I really hated Congratulations at first, but eventually I grew to like it (maybe even better than Oracular Spectacular.) I also really hate the self titled so far, but maybe it will grow on me in the same way. Orrrrr, maybe it really is shit.
