Holy crap I would love to see this show. What a great, great album.
I haven't seen any video of the song being used by McCain, but unless it was a very short clip it definitely doesn't fall under Fair Use guidelines.
First 3 minutes or so - nothing special. The last half was surprisingly strong. There may be hope yet...
Rob Halford tried the same thing when he left the Priest, then got wise.
Uh oh, looks like the angry GnR longhairs are out in force!
Painful. I was at the infamous PNC Arts Center show a few months ago, and this is even worse than that debacle.
I can't give it the top slot (that goes to Field Music's Tones of Town), but it's easily top 5 in what was a great year for albums.
You know what else is a "grower"? Athlete's foot. This song is the aural equivalent of that.
Even better than Snakes & Arrows? ; )
Seems like it might be decent. My only real complaint is the inclusion of "Can't Wait Too Long." Anytime I hear Brian's new band doing old BB material it always pales in comparison.
Two words for you - Firefox & AdBlock.
Lars is going to have to work hard to top this. Now he needs to start firebombing the houses of people who leak the next Metallica record.
Boo fucking hoo. I love hearing these sob stories. News flash - Ben Folds' obligation to you ends when the concert ends.
Looking forward to the new album, hope it's not a total bore like Songs for Silverman.
Spot on. The FF disc and Van Occupanther successfully pay tribute to the past without wallowing in it or blindly aping it. Real pleasures.

A "perfect blend of youthful innocence and punk violence"? Was that copied from a press release or something??
Say what you want about that corn-rowed nutjob, but lay of Dr. Pepper, man.
This movie is a staple of my adolescence, I cannot wait to see the SP episode (damn work filters!)
Why is that hating CC automatically makes one a hipster? Can't I appreciate good songwriting and think they're musical pablum?
I loved BBS precisely because it felt like Jack's indulgences were reigned in and we got to hear him shine in the context of a band. This feels like a Jack White solo record with the other 3 as his backing band. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but this is too similar to White Stripes for my tastes. Still, there are some really good songs and I will go back to this one many times in the coming months. I'll echo what others have said about Carolina Drama - it's a great song and a perfect capper for the album. I am underwhelmed by Many Shades of Black however. I'll spare you a URL plug for my review but you can get it through my profile if you're so inclined.
I'm sure Adam's a real sweetheart, but that doesn't make me loathe his band's music any less.
I know I'm not the first to comment on the column layout, but it's offputting. The left column is close enough to the middle in size that it competes too much for my attention.
