There are about 15-20 albums I’m excited about today, it’s fucking insane, and yet all I’ve done is listen to the Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds’ B-Sides and Rarities Part II. Even his secondhand stuff towers high over most artists’ greatest accomplishments. He’s the greatest of all time.
For those that like hardcore, don’t sleep on the new Cerce album. It’s free on Bandcamp.
Can’t wait for this album. I’ve been in contact with them and have an interview setup for my music blog which should be a lot of fun. Second awesome band this year I’m getting to interview.
I don’t know shit about Paul Simon, but seems like his self titled are the only songs I can really tolerate. Crazy to see Big Daddy Kane and Biz Markie introducing #7; the former is going to get waxed by KRS One in the next Verzuz.
I went to the inaugural one of these back in 2017 (I think?) and it was a lot of fun. We don’t get many festivals here but this and McDowell Mountain Music Festival are at least trying to get it going. That said, I won’t be attending this.
The Eras Five-State Distortion by Walrus Audio - got it mainly because of the blend knob that allows your clean signal to run parallel to the distortion signal. Will be very useful for stacking with the guitar and also for adding some grit to bass.
Fuzz by Empress Effects - very simple pedal, but the low end frequencies sound impressive, and the eq is after the gain circuit.
Mthrfckr=Rptr by Mild End Effects - most excited about this, not only because tape delays are my favorite and this one offers a fresh and unique take on it, but also has a cassette preamp that allows you to push the signal either with the pedal itself or by stacking an overdrive/distortion/fuzz before it (and I have the two aforementioned new ones to do just that with)
Gotta love when it says “we’re sorry, cannot post your comment, try again” just to make you look like more of a dummy than you already do, right guys? Right??

Yeah, anytime someone tries to send me a tiktok I’m like, “don’t have tiktok” and they’re like “why??!” And then I’m like “because I’m a grown man and I don’t record myself doing stupid fucking dances in my free time” and then they’re like “oh” and then I’m like “delete my number and go drive off a cliff, Thelma” and then they’re like “who’s Thelma?” and then I’m like “that’s what I call your mom when we rub our genitals together” and then they cry.
I was watching some UFC fights a few weeks back and this god forsaken commercial played every single break. I’ll say this - I’m never fucking eating at fucking Applebee’s again.
I saw them in October 2019 for their short run as the album was released and then again January 2020, second to last show before the pandemic hit (Destroyer was the last). That brought my total Tool shows to seven and I went into that last one thinking it would be my last time. I’m still pretty sure it will be. They’re an incredible live band and the light show and graphics are always top notch, but seven is enough I think.
Don’t skip that Koma album posted yesterday. Also, there’s a new album out today by Olga Kouklaki called Dusty Diamond if you want some synth pop noir in your life.
