Garden Of Burning Apparitions; are you kidding me? Beyond the music, this band nails the aesthetics every goddamn time. Going to need that t-shirt.
Fuck it, "Mountain Magick" by Wolves In The Throne Room.
Didn't really like King's Disease, mainly because of the production. Really wish Nas would lock down a top tier producer from his era for a whole album instead of Hit Boy, but whatever. The tracklist still has me excited; a song called "Death Row East", and another song with EPMD & Eminem which should be interesting.
Oh dur dur ha ha ha, obviously I was talking about this: https://thesource.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Today-in-Hip-Hop-History-JAY-Z-Dropped-The-Black-Album-16-Years-Ago.jpg
There's no doubt about that, RTL is my favorite album of theirs, but again, not as iconic nor has it permeated everything like "Enter Sandman". It's very likely one of the most widely recognizable guitar riffs of all time.
Okay, "better" and "best" are up for debate. There aren't many that are more iconic or legendary than "Enter Sandman".
Damn, I really want to listen to this, but I'm balls deep in some LOX and Diplomats getting ready for the VERZUZ tonight.
Okay, reading the headline made me cringe but it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Say what you want about The Black Album (personally, I think it's amazing), but that riff is as good as it fucking gets.
You're right, kind of apples and oranges at this point, especially after The Weeknd turned pop. As you said, I think his highs are nearly as high (although admittedly, not quite), but it's the volume that does it for me.
Bloc knows the pieces fit.
Sounds like they just removed the main vocals for the track and left the adlibs in the back for the teaser. Definitely sounds really good, excited to hear where this is going. Given these two headlines pretty close to each other, just want to go ahead and say that The Weeknd > Frank Ocean.
You see, choikle? You see?? The amount of time and energy you spend talking shit about the Yankees is impressive and also baffling.
Buncha old white women in Japan huh? Metal AF.
This was a nonsense troll of blochead because he deserves it. You ever seen bloc's twitter? If so, you'd understand why my comment was completely justified and super necessary.
Loving the album. Also, the cover makes me want to do a lot of pull-ups. #yoasted

It wouldn't make my top 10 but I enjoy that song quite a bit as well.
I love agreeing with you Dan. Honestly, I do.
It's definitely not. In fact, it's not even close. Is This It is Jeter and VVV is some half decent but forgettable nobody like Pedroia.
One of the best albums of all time in any genre. Timeless. Classic. Legendary. Game changing. Epic. Monumental. Perfection. It's very easily one of my desert island albums and always will be. All hail King Casablancas.
My grandparents built a roller skating rink in the 60s, and my parents bought it from them in the early 90s, so I spent every weekend for about 12 years there skating and working for my parents. Early on I took over the music duties since I've always loved music, and we had an "80s hits" CD with that song, "Sweet Dreams" by The Eurythmics, "Hungry Like the Wolf" by Duran Duran, etc. which might explain the original comment I left. On that topic, just a little fun fact about me, I used to compete different roller skating disciplines - speed skating, figure skating, hockey, so I am very likely one of the best roller skaters that any of you have crossed paths with. Betcha didn't see that shit coming.
Hahahaha this is a great point. I stand with you in solidarity.
As much as I hate this gimmick, "Chinatown" is a pretty fun song and this one isn't awful either.
This is shaping up to be an incredible project. One of my most anticipated for the remainder of the year.
If you skipped last week's AOTW, you're playing yourself.
Pretty good throw, weirdly better than a lot of athletes from other sports when they throw it out.
I don't have the energy to really hash it out, so I sat there and listed the first 25 great albums that came to my mind in that span. A couple duplicates (Deafheaven, Radiohead) but oh well. I also had a lot of rap albums on mine.
The sounds and how he's harnessed them reminds me a lot of the industrial pots-and-pans-beating that Tom Waits does, it's just obviously a lot darker, heavier, and more menacing.
Really loving what I've heard from the Alexis Marshall album so far, and also really impressed with this Anika album.
Would be great if she just went away forever, possibly to space, since all these fuckheads are super into that now.
There’s a lot of misses or “meh” sounding stuff, but a few really good moments too. The last two songs were in the perfect spot, and the surprise Jay-Z feature was amazing.
Pecknold’s voice just washes peacefulness over my white body every time I hear it.
I'm so fucking pumped about this. I couldn't give less of a shit about Lorde or her music but I enjoyed this so much. I can't wait for further installments. I would love one on Julian Casablancas and how he constructs his chord progressions and melodies.
