Between Paul Butterfield Blues Band and Highway 61, sounds like he played with guitarist Michael Bloomfield a decent amount. Some great stuff on those Butterfield albums. RIP.
Today seems like a good time to revisit MAGDALENE. As much as I love twigs, that album never quite clicked for me despite its obvious beauty. When it comes down to it, M3LL155X is my favorite project of hers, so I'm intrigued to hear how this mixtape sprawls out in contrast.
At this point I know he's a separate guy who's friends with Nick Cave, but every time I read Warren Ellis I first think of the (now disgraced) Planetary / Authority comic book author.
So sorry for your loss Bix. Feels good to know you loved Hamburger Mary's too - I had many a great meal with friends at the Andersonville location before it closed last year.
He was just getting started. Drakeo was a voice like none other and he will be missed. If you’ve never heard Cold Devil I hope you enjoy one of the best albums of the last ten years.
other highlights: Rico brought out Queen Key to perform "My Way" and Danny brought out DJ Spinn and footwork dancers The Era for a mini-footwork set, including some of his own moves.
"Animals" from Compton is still one of the best Anderson .Paak tracks out there.

This album has grown on me all over again after learning the Prince connection, and I realized that "Underneath It All" is one of my favorite songs period this summer. RIP Robbie!
ha I just galaxy brained trying to figure it out then. totally agree! DJ Manny's is my favorite of the bunch, but I need to spend more time with Jana Rush.
(I believe Double Cup is the footwork album that Miles is alluding to in his Jana Rush blurb since "Just A Taste" features a sample of someone saying "I don't give a fuck" much like Rashad's track titled "I Don't Give A Fuck")
