...so here's the 32 musicians who agreed to sing for this. God bless those who they approached and declined.
Ever seen Cibo Matto's Sugar Water by Michel Gondry though?
I'm very much anti iTunes stream. Sure at least it leads some people to buy the album instead I guess?! But is that even the point of an album stream? And what good is it to you if you want to own the physical copy? I don't see how this is a good move by any artist, they'd do better to put it up on one of the many streaming sites or offer their own direct service.
Looks 'cool' but what's the point of it all though? They aim shotguns and play with knifes for no reason other than to kid. He seduces a young lady, blindfolds her, then reveals all causing her to scream. Then injects her into sleep only to let her run away in front of a car so she can break her legs and somehow find it desirable to live in his shit boring life? All style no substance what so ever.
Thank you for redirecting me to the kind of performance I was actually hoping for.
No beef to be had though. The video (which is skimmed while continuing to listen to Cylops Ream) is just a bunch of dance styles, from ballet to hip hop to rock chick to electro future girl to cheerleader to R'n'B etc etc. If anything it's like the longest GAP commercial ever.
that's an interesting way of phrasing a hit list
I'm not so certain. I consider myself a self confessed fan and when Lonerism came out both those songs were pretty nice but not the ones I gravitated towards. I think Solitude is Bliss or Half Full Glass of Wine would be Fan songs.
You do make a good point though, that percussion section was a little weak, though you can tell it'll sound decent on the record. Overall fantastic performance still.
Guy needs to get a new drummer, she looks/plays like she's bored
I've found acoustic covers are mostly quite boring, unless if your José González.
Two things: Firstly, they have a good point, if we're all honest we see it and agree with it. So good for them for speaking up rather than just going with the constant stream of media that only seems only acceptable if it's positive and encouraging. Secondly, why is it a bad thing for them to speak up, and why is Stereogum discouraging this?
Atmosphere is killer, clearly continues to influence British music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pOI-ikmSqY but then again all of these songs and records even have been very influential!
Can more rockstars please steal other bands bobbleheads, slag off Lorde and claim their God so we don't have to read anymore 'shit Daft Punk did' posts that aren't actually interesting news.
Now that's some record art right there

Well a Mercury Prize nomination would beg to differ. Plus Wrecking Ball wasn't even written by miss Cyrus.
Wild Beasts venturing into pop is nothing new, they've even done a remix for Lady Gaga before.
Though, a bit more of the same is usually ends up with audiences losing interest in the long run. So to do something different would be appreciated.

Sounds a bit like this one also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyDUC1LUXSU
'manicured facial hair'?
Thought Disclosure had more sense than to collab with such shite
If you're gonna haul abuse about over promotion in 2013 then you should probably aim at someone like Daft Punk. Who proceeded to blue ball as throughout the year with 30 second clips, tv guest appearances and yet only now are they going to actually play one song off that bloody record. I actually admired Arcade Fire's viral approach with using a symbol across the world that anyone could replicate. It was pretty refreshing especially because it didn't have any reference to their band initially. Not sure what exactly he's going on about with TV appearances either, as I can only recall an average number.
I'm actually surprised, upon first listen I'm not really into the vibe of this record. It comes over as a bit cheap to me with all the auto-tuned vocals and the dramatic synths. I feel the same way about Jon Hopkins and the exuberant backing vocals on Yeezus. Whereas in Burial's previous work the darkness kinda compensated for that. It's still kinda off though, still not squeaky clean at least. I'm slightly bored with the constant fuzz interjections and crackles that has become part of his sound too, here they don't seem to add anything, rather just act more like a habit.
They should fuck shouldn't they!
