Totally right, very sexist narrative that also affects Billie Eilish and her work with her brother
Guys, I think it’s time to admit Damien Rice is the most influential artist of this Millenium so far (for the world, not for the indie scene)
One of the best rock songs of the last 20 years, you can disagree but you would be kidding yourself haha
I think people sometimes miss how important is superficiality to rock music, the music SHOULD be judged by the cover. One of the reasons why « Is this it » is better than Room on Fire is because it just looks more sexy and dangerous. Imagine being a teenager, finding that album cover and listening to it, being blown away as it sounds how it looks. Julian knows this well and Jack White knows this VERY well.
As a Thé 1975 fan, I don’t get why they get praise and Wolf Alice is largely ignored around here
Not to take EVERYTHING under this argument, but the female musician/rich-parents problem starts to feel more and more misogynistic
Update: it’s great 😁
Elvis Costello and The Cure are super influential for so many great Latin American bands
Great design and of course great piece! (And of course great tune)
Nothing against her, I just find her music way too boring
Damn, those first 30 seconds of the album might be my favorite piece of music so far this year
C'mon I thought it was obvious that the album cover is ugly and ridiculous on purpose, I laughed so much first time I saw it haha
Ouf of the 3, Weezer is the only one who are up in their game right now! Catch up guys!
I think it’s understated how great is Weezer when English is not your native language
Love some classic rock
1. Dookie 2. American Idiot (young millennial here!) 3. Warning (Justice for Warning!) 4. Insomniac 5. Kerplunk! 6. 21st Century Breakdown 7. ¡Dos! 8. ¡Uno! 9. 1039 10. Shenanigans 11. ¡Tre! 12. 1039 13. Revolution Radio 14. Father of All Motherfuckers
This is badassssss
The Kiss of Venus is delightful, love the Damon Remix too (Gorillaz track with Sir Paul please!)
I meant it as a compliment haha
This sounds like something The Beatles would have written in the 80s
I hope that the next album cycle of Spoon comes with the conversation of them as one of the best Americans bands of all time
For sure, now that's a worthy list: 1) True Love Waits 2) Motion Picture Soundtrack 3) Videotape 4) Street Spirit 5) Life in a Glasshouse 6) Separator 7) The Tourist 8) A Wolf at the door 9) Blow Out ...and I think it's worth saying this could also be a valid list of their best songs altogether
It's crazy to think how pretty Separator is, like picnic in the park with your dogs levels of prettiness
Their songs are enjoyable and catchy, they’ll always have their classic albums and their concerts are some of the best ones I’ve ever been to. They’re only guilty of trying to give us a good time
Great, now all teenagers are going to be hanging around with $24M pink diamonds in their foreheads
Numbers is beautiful
Weezer is the living proof that “edition” is the missing ingredient to go from talented to genius
