Blew my mind when I found out she was a chick. Which corrects me. I'm always touting myself as a huge "guy" books fan. Like ya know, Norman Mailer, Saul Bellow, Jonathan Franzen, George Saunders. But in reality two of my fave authors, SE Hinton and JK Rowling, are women! So pumped Hinton's still rolling. And for the record I think the other book I was thinking of was Tex. Slow, moody, and thoughtful if I remember correctly. Also read Rumble Fish.
