I quote either his imitation of a guitar sound ("YeahAAAHHuuhhWOAH") or the Dutch-angled "Fresh POOOOTS!"
Pretty much everyone from Cheers besides Ted Danson and David Hyde Pierce!
St. Petersburg is washed. Moscow's where it's at. Obviously.
I’m pretty sure most of those celebs aren’t Trump supporters (at least I hope not - Dennis Quaid definitely isn’t), but why isn’t Trump just sticking to his crowd? You don’t have to work for Kid Rock or Kelsey Grammer so why bother courting new faces?
Somebody’s got the free time to start three separate troll accounts! Don’t you have more productive things to do?
Never watched it, but that checks out. I'm mostly thinking of SNL (especially Happy Fun Ball and Xantrax).
I'm a sucker for jokes about crazy medical side effects. It's a niche genre but man is it funny.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like it.
Leave it to the Boss to always know what to say. It's a cliche to say he embodies the real spirit of America, but he just never fails to have an all-encompassing awareness of what's going on, how we got here, and what we need to do, and he knows just how to say it. It's a rare skill that few people have, but somehow he just always knows. He really does have all the best words.
Man, this was funny. First one will never be topped but it's always good for a laugh.
You’re entitled to your opinion
I gotta do that. Probably great to watch high too. Also who's downvoting the posts? We're talking about HAIM, right?
It's really hard to pick a favorite Talking Heads song (longtime answer was, naturally, "Once in a Lifetime," but lately I've really fallen in love with "And She Was"). This undoubtedly is up there with the best though.
HAIM were also just on Desus & Mero and it does my heart good to see that whether you're from the 818 or the Bronx, we can all agree green juice sucks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqSrLfQpi5c&t=217s&ab_channel=JordanaAra%C3%BAjoJordanaAra%C3%BAjo
I was today years old when I realized the Asa Taccone Danielle mentioned being friends with is, in fact, the brother of Jorma from The Lonely Island (and probably why Jorma randomly showed up in a Haim video). Holy shit! (Aaaand now I just saw the whole article so this is redundant but I've already written it. It's bizarre that I haven't watched Bash Brothers or Popstar when I love The Lonely Island so much. And that scene with Haim also had Andy's B99 costar Stephanie Beatriz. We love a crossover!). Wish there was a mention of Morris Day and the Haim at some point: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xtkGKeccLI&ab_channel=BodegaBoysBodegaBoys
BB King called it one of his favorite blues songs of all time, no lie
Me too! Am I crazy? It's Tenacious D so that automatically divorces it from institutional pretension. Also, having Elizabeth Warren makes it cooler, not less. Mayor Pete, I dunno, but not her.
The only element that'll never not suck is the political stuff in the cold opens. Alec Baldwin just isn't that funny of a Trump.
It's also funny how Adele, the admittedly-nervous non-comedian was looser and less reliant on cue cards than professional comedian Chris Rock.
The only sketch I thought was a dud was the Africa tourism sketch, and even that was made enjoyable by Adele cracking up. The rest was all uniformly solid in a way that SNL can't always guarantee, and for SNL, averaging about a B+ overall is pretty impressive. And yes, the fortune teller sketch was great, although my favorite was probably Ass Angel Jeans, not just for how funny Adele and Maya Rudolph were, but also for that bizarro "Happy Fun Ball"/"Almost Pizza" energy as the side effects of the pants become more pronounced.
I wish I had time to go through the whole UHF thread but HELL YES what a wonderful movie. And as far as demands go, I feel like Weird Al must've been pretty OK with letting Mark freaking Knopfler recreate his own guitar part. (Also how on Earth is "Sultans of Swing" a 4? I'd give both it and "Money for Nothing" a 9).
I dunno. I thought most of the sketches were hilarious.
I’m pumped for the Strokes, but I’m doubly pumped to see John Mulaney back again! (Two hosting gigs this year already, I must be dreaming!). All I really hope is Andy comes back to do a sequel to “Boombox.”
She did a good job! She was clearly down for everything and wasn’t afraid to be goofy, and ultimately that’s the most important thing. I appreciate that SNL is making the most of Maya Rudolph while they have her. Also, that Africa tourism sketch would’ve been borderline problematic if it weren’t for the fact that Adele’s glorious break distracted from its issues.
Don’t care if you complain, just vote for him

I like it! Doesn't quite snatch my wig the way "Rain on Me" did, but it's a really solid track nonetheless.
I’ve been to Ann Arbor but sadly I’ve never been to the Blind Pig. Here’s hoping I can go eventually.
Just a few years ago, I was at a very lonely table for one at the "Macca is the best Beatle" dinner, but now I've got lots of company!
Eh. Not consistently, but mostly. How far back are we going with legacy acts? If it's between '60s-'80s, I'd also add in Johnny Marr and Nick Cave.
Yeah but I don't blame that on him. I blame that on the record company. Then again, Paul's never really cared about being cool.
They were! People totally slept on them but Come On to Me was (and I don’t say this lightly) as catchy as his best Beatles songs, so I feel like this’ll be great.
I literally just played the obvious song for a friends birthday and now not only do I regret because of this I’m also cringing at how cliche it was
Like, the best rappers can get away with talking about doing terrible things and still creating incredible music - maybe it's a persona, maybe it's with a tinge of regret, maybe something else. There's nothing you can really do to make unemployment fraud sound palatable.
There have been worse crimes immortalized in better songs. The crime here is heinous and the song is garbage.
