I would pay approximately $500 to drink 15 PBRs at an IDLES show tonight.
Love how they're positioning it like we wouldn't want them to release info on Trump. Like damn homies we'll scrounge up that money for you to release it!
Still batting a thousand.
I don't know anything about this story, but man she should be careful opening the can of worms that comes from mentioning a Soros online.
If he's related to Rahm Emanuel I'll just believe he's as full of shit as his brother.
Damn this rules, I love the uptempo sound for her. If we skew closer to BOCC with this album I'll be thrilled.
City Sun... is the perfect Spring album in my book
This is the best Callahan and don't try to deny it!
A lo-fi masterpiece
In fact I'd argue listening to his discography in order gives you a better feel for the arc of the decade than probably any other artist.
No one had a better decade in terms of fully realized artistic intent.
Oh hell yeah, this will be worth it just for the full footage of the rooftop concert. Their performance of Don't Let Me Down that day might be the best thing they've ever done.
Wait, so Rostam co-produced this album, while Haim and Ariel were all over Father of the Bride and Rostam was relatively uninvolved in that album?
Just this past October I saw +@ at a small, weird New Hampshire radio station that was BYOB and had no real dressing rooms to speak of. Got to talk to Patrick while waiting for the bathroom. Talked about a show from 2011, handed him a beer from the cooler, and then after the set I was drunk and got him to sign my Local Business vinyl and ranted to him about how under-appreciated it is. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Respectfully disagree. The Battle of Hampton Roads is the best 14 minute song in recorded history, and I sing every word every time.
Local Business is insanely underrated and feels like a perfect step back when everyone just wanted The Monitor pt. 2.
Saw that today as well and I will pay any amount and cancel anything to be there. A bit of a bummer in one aspect tho, considering this quote Patrick gave to the homie Dan Ozzi last summer about the prospect of doing an anniversary tour: "Yeah, I've heard of these. Well, let me tell you something right now, Dan. If you ever hear about me doing something like that, you can be pretty well assured that I must be pretty hard up for money. I can hardly think of anything less artistically stimulating." So, yeah everyone buy tickets to this tour.
More than any other album, this feels like MY album. I don't get much deep, personal connection with most music, but man this album hit me at a time in my life where it felt like it was made for me. My life weirdly mirrored the story (and thus Patrick's) for a little bit, and I blasted this constantly, singing along to it while driving on the Merritt Parkway and I-84 while Patrick sang about those roads. This album made me a Titus fan forever, no matter what they put out or where they play, I'll be there. +@ FOREVER
As someone who was at the show they missed, I'm glad Daddy Dan gave those boys some bare bottom discipline on my behalf.
Lovely, I'll be refreshing all day.
Wow. The Monitor also turns 10 today, please tell me we're getting a retrospective of that too!
Fuck! I’m seeing the Destroyer + Nap Eyes (w/Ryley Walker!) show tonight but Nap Eyes got held up at the border and can’t make the show now. Piss!
Their two albums are good, but the first EP "Very Best of Hinds So Far" from 2015 is still the best thing they've put out.
Referring to the split between the British and Irish as pedantic is absolutely incredible and my favorite comment of all time.
Barbra Streisand is an all-time banger
That's a lot of Malkmi
Thought they might be Buttigieg people, what with his penchant for destroying homes and whatnot.
Yeah was considering going Friday but there's really no one worth shelling out that much for. The best set of the day is going to be PUP and they tour non-stop anyways.
I've seen them like 10+ times now and went to Homecoming the first time. You're going to love it and appreciate how the live show deepens your relationship to the recorded songs. All of my favorite singers are just drunk poets anyway so I like sloppy Matt whenever that happens.
A 3-day pass to this is cheaper than a single day to Boston Calling, has a better lineup, and will be less crowded. Very tempting.
Their last album, Smell Smoke, is legit great. They also put on a fantastic live show if you can catch them.
Yeah it's probably cyclical right? Grunge is a response to 80's pop, the Meet Me in the Bathroom era a response to late 90s pop explosion etc. etc. I'll just be biding my time until the scuzz rises to the top again.
When did a pop shift become shorthand for maturing? I like my garage rock god damnit!
I also want to be Max Martin because I also want a billion dollars.
It's downright depressing to go back and look at the City Hall lineups and how good they were.
Emotions and Math was one of my favorite albums of the last decade, but I'm not so sure about this song. Not really what I want from Glaspy, prefer the blues-y, crunchy sound her voice is perfect for.
