amen....Ive got tickets to see him Feb 5th here in Victoria...Ive been waiting for this for a LONG time!
can't stop listening to it either great stuff
i just read this whole thing and its absolutely demented.
i don't see her much since she started with horses. No, I don't see her much since she started to ride.
Yoshimi is well placed, most people know it well and associate it as being the 'best' Lips album because of that Pink Robot song you still here everywhere. I think their best radio hit has been "She Dont Use Jelly'. 90s gold.
is Primus 3D really a thing because that sounds fucking rad
I forgot a simple word like "in" and the whole conversation turns Star Wars. I should have figured as much.
could you imagine the backlash of listing their best songs? its all arguable because its all so good.
thats the truth of it. the sound of the smiths is the best compilation, but really these lists should have no compilations, because if its full albums youre listing, then list full albums only.
this list surely will get some sand peoples panties.
Calling the Shins 'Wincing the Night Away' to a lesser extent middle-aged mediocrity is stupid. Brining up Aesop Rock's Daylight makes it seem like you haven't listened to anything he's done in the last decade. Two lines to sum the The Evens is dumb. Not digging the so-called 'Comeback' article, all the good artists on here never really went away.
I wouldnt want her on my case. She can fuckin rap.
I don't know, Beck is making sheet music. My suggestion obviously needs help, but they days of being a traditional rock n roll start appear to be numbered.
I know my attitude is wrong, but I was among the millions scammed with Columbia house and over a decade of extremely highly priced cds sold in commercial outlets like HMV, AnB Sound, Virigin, Etc. As music was the fabric of my life, nearly all my money went buying cds. Naive to the industry, I didn't realize that all the money was being absorbed by RIAA fat cats, rather than the bands I assumed I was supporting. It wasn't uncommon for a new CD in western Canada to $32. Like I said, I know my attitude is wrong, but I don't give a shit about downloading cds. I support bands that I like by buying merch, but mostly by going to their shows whenever they come around. In an age where the most of the best artists are on smaller labels that respect the artist and pay them properly, the issue now obviously isnt in the logistics of business, but that the recording industry alienated generations of customers by abusing them with ungodly cds prices. You couple that with the rise of file sharing its no wonder that nobody buys cds anymore. Musicians, like everyone else in the world, should be open to alternative sources of income. Our world today, compared to the 90s, is much different.
Pastor Cat completely dominated this month, much kudos on your despot-like control over the gummers.
this list reveals how many people spent a better part of last year picking on Lana Del Ray (including myself). I bet she loves the attention. Next year we should pick on Blake Schwarzenback for a Jawbreaker reunion tour.
this comp is going to kick ass. descendents fucking rule. they ripped on people who wore tight jeans in the 70s. Goddamn prophets.
im sure their getting payed pretty nicely from all these magazines.
heres the link for mixmag http://www.mixmag.net/words/features/tunes-of-the-year-no-10-01
Theres a complete lack of Ghetto Funk artists on this list (Funk Hunters, Neon Steve, Funcanomics, Wood . Soo), no PRETTY LIGHTS, no CAYLX or TEEBEE, this list really bothers me. Go right ahead and downvote this I know it will happen but Stereogum and it's readers know NOTHING about electronic music, thats the truth. Go to any large music electronic music festival (shambhala, WEMF, Electro Beach, etc etc) and other than Diplo (and Burial in my headphones) you will none of these tracks.
This list also says stereogum doesn't go to raves/electronic festivals/ or dance clubs. silly list. it should be the top 30 hipster electronic songs.
Ween broke up? That's horrific news. Bah humbug.
this has been happening for awhile *cough*The-Dream*cough* and remember the psycho hype last year surrounding TheWeeknd?
i love it how a mixtape (ASAP Rocky) basiclly is rereleased with mp3s that have been on the net for over a year and its still the tenth most anticipated album of the year. Not to put it down, I mean I love his mixtape its been on heavy rotation for over a year, but are we really that excited for the album? I think most of us have heard it already.
when I first discovered the Ultra/Nostalgia mixtape I realised it was one of the albums for fucking ever. Fingerbanging good music.
Nice to have you join the 'gum family, but I'm sure as you already know were a bunch of dysfunctional twits who constantly down vote our peers and and post wildly hilarious gifs that have nothing to do with anything.
it would be cool to see year end lists that didn't all have the same music on it.
Has everyone forgotten about Wild Nothing - Nocturne??
"Hey Guys! It's Christmas Time" by Sufjan Stevens should be on that list.
miss lane staley big time. he really was a rock god.
the chronic will never get old.
and its one helluva good appy
If a hip hop spin off site is ever made I hope you don't hear about it.
good you probably should go considering this list was voted for by the readers
I dont understand why they chose "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe". I mean, no doubt he desereves to have multiple tracks up on the top 100, but theres way doper tracks on the album IMO...*cough* swimming pools *cough* compton.
any publicity is good publicity, regardless of the actual conditions of the factories its got all of is talking about Converse right before the holiday season, and i think that makes them happy.
at this point im just an echo of the previous posts BUT MADVILLIANY AT #5? It should top the list...
