Look at the three people mentioned n this article -- Lena, Bethany, and Lauren -- they're always listed as the first ones to jump in any time to get on their soapboxes. Not saying Kesha's in the wrong. This whole thing is murky and she obviously shouldn't be forced to work with Dr. Luke. I'm just saying that I think it's not surprising everytime there is an issue that touches on feminism, Stereogum at least reports on these three women having to say something.
Maybe it's a Phil Collins cover album.
I know Ozma and Weezer get compared a lot but this sounds more like Ozma. "Domino Effect" with some different turns.
I like Banks but this was a snoozer. It almost feels like a segue rather than a song. I also get vibes of "Waiting Game" from this. Since that is her most (or 2nd) popular song, I hope she's not retracing steps too much on this new release.
Bernie Sanders in some frames where they don't superimpose his head looks more like Larry King meets the Six Flags mascot.
Oh c'mon the last one owns. I don't like Bush either but he's into it and the other guys in frame are doing the same thing.
I used to jump on these but are these only for Kanye and Jay-Z or also his entourage, crew, etc.? I see a lot of stupid shit on riders but then I find out later, a lot of stupid shit isn't for the artist specifically always. Especially with bigger productions, more mouths to feed.
Glee and shit like that is more musical theater, it's kind of jumped the shark by now. Pentatonix has a huge following prior to Cracker Barrel. I think the hype of their first album of original material and years worth of viral videos and using YouTube well earned them the #1 spot.
Is anyone else really tired of all this? Who cares. Let people make music.
It sounds like the 2nd soulDecision album, which came out 11 years ago...
Fuck the Whirr guys too. My post seems too sympathetic to them.
This is stupid. It's obviously a dumbass move (and probably a lie, let's not shit ourselves) to let your non-band/non-management run your Twitter. It's fine for him to tweet LOL at GLOSS for whatever reason. It's not right to think GLOSS are immune to criticism or anyone who criticizes them are labeled transphobic. There seems to be some knee-jerk reactionism in play somewhere that makes me less sympathetic to GLOSS or maybe their fanbase. The rest of the tweets out the Whirr guy, but if it's about GLOSS prohibiting certain people from going to shows/buying merch, then it's a valid complaint. What I'm trying to say is -- I've never heard of either of these bands until THIS ENTIRE WEEK and I have no desire to hear about either of them again. Everyone sucks!
I think there's some honesty in this. I saw that Late Late Show and John Mayer said he wouldn't call himself a deadhead yet but he finally got it. I can see Weir really vibing and enjoying the energy Mayer brings. Mayer's discography aside, he's a great guitarist. I could see them already announcing the dates then this opportunity presented itself. Mayer can be a bit of a weasel though, so maybe he planned getting in on it the whole time.
Not really, I heard Mother We Shared on Hype Machine when it came out and liked it a lot. It was certainly catchy and wasn't surprised when I heard it on the radio a few months later. Everything else they've done, for me, has been pretty tepid and boring. Even their new singles don't do much for me. I listened to the albums, they have their own unique little voice but so does Phantogram, MS MR, Polica, Purity Ring, etc. These groups don't get think-piece essays across major indie music sites/blogs, but Chvrches does because their lead singer is vocal about an issue and approaches it such a way that is popular to do so now. But it's kind of childish and short-sighted, it's the kind of thing that's actually destructive to their own cause.
That was pretty stupid. I think she has good intentions most of the time but I feel like her beliefs and the press it attracts is the thing that keeps Chvrches a bit more relevant than the countless of female-led/2-3 guy synthpop bands. Their albums are okay but I can't help but see all the press (including the article suggested below as I right this) is making Chvrches out to be a lot better than they really are.
Definitely the most personality in a video from Lana. It's close to being a Lizzy Grant video with some of those playful facial expressions.
But the government health care covers the cost completely.
Parts of this album reminded me of early Dredg, even the guitar tone was something right out of their later stuff. This album made me want a dredg album for some reason even though most people don't like them.
I hate everything and everyone involved with this.
