I think I'll be asking for a refund. The charm of ATP, to me, was the feeling of taking over a resort, like a great out-of-town wedding, with all your friends and favorite bands playing. You could easily duck out of the shows, smoke a joint, take a nap and watch baseball in your room and then jump back into the action. Manhattan won't provide that vibe. I can't see myself in a $350 per night hotel room at 3AM and thinking, "I'll stroll over to the pier now to watch some films".

Apple locked me out of my iTunes account due to a security issue that was never explained to me. It was 2.5 weeks before they gave me back my account. They seem to be really serious about security over convenience.
If you have 1TB of music, it doesn't upload 1TB. It recognizes the track in your collection and gives you the right to download Apple's 256 Kpbs track. Adding the streaming function will happen because it's easy. The question I have is once I add a track that does not already exist in the Apple reference tracks, like say Moby being electrocuted, does it upload my copy and make that the reference for others?

I agree with him wholeheartedly. I've noticed that too many of his fans think they are entitled to products that are guaranteed to be worth more than the purchase price, immediately. The White Stripes poster collectors are a great example of this. They post items on eBay before they receive the item themselves. That has nothing to do with affection for the product, just a feeling of entitlement to the profit, which Jack is arguing should go to the artists, not the collector.

They can be criticized for having more mainstream ambitions due to their fascinations with popular culture and a Warholian desire to co-opt that culture, but their business with DGC had very little to do with that. And yes, Albini has the luxury of receiving checks with one hand while bashing labels with the other. That financial security provides a stable perch for high standards - that and being paid to perform at every ATP event in the world.

Hotel owners are already reporting losses and if smaller bands boycott, maybe larger bands, like U2 will feel the pressure to boycott (they do not have an upcoming show - this is just an example). I'm sure that some people think that Bono waving a white flag and getting emotional onstage would have an impact, but I saw R.E.M. during the Bush/Gore election and the audience had no problem booing the political speech and then playing air guitar to the hits. It was money and corporate pressure that brought the MLK holiday to AZ. "Boycott Sun City" was a slogan to encourage artists to boycott performances in South Africa, and it did bring attention and economic pressure. Fucked Up should play there for free, achieves his goals of evangelizing to the population but it remains lost economic opportunity in the local marketplace.
It was a tourist boycott that pressured Arizona into honoring the MLK holiday. So, Mr. Casper, maybe you are the tard.

Billy's biggest fault is that he's about 15 years too late in realizing the extent of her destructive energy. Her recent New York Times article allowed her to explain away decades of abusive behavior, and child neglect, as "method acting". Although she says she wishes she never saw Kurt's money because it is "cursed", that won't stop her from trying to cheat Francis Bean out of more of it. Courtney spent a true fortune on drugs and songwriting and production teams to compensate for her lack of talent and now she is broke. Francis only has a few more months before she turns 18, so let's see if Courtney makes her move.
