"I never grow up, it's getting so old" It seems Taylor and I are on the same page for the first time.
I just read the review the album and saw your original comment about this with the same gif. I like that you went from gentle questioning ("LOVING the album. However, the opening scene from the short is straight outta Fleabag...right?") to just accusing them of ripping it off. All in a 3 minute time span!
Thom Yorke's not bad either! *Ba Dum Tssss*
The most shockingly out of touch part of this whole thing is how early she's announcing the release date. Taylor, look to Beyoncé. You may not have the swagger but get some confidence.
Ever since Reputation kind of fizzled in terms of public opinion I've been waiting to see what her re-brand would look like. I wasn't expecting this. Though it makes sense. I was kind of thinking she would pull a Miley and go back to her roots a little more. But the ultra self positive vibe makes sense post Reputation.
FOCUS GROUP TESTED AND APPROVED THE RE-BRAND IS ALIVE AND WELL
DOOM is one of the first rappers I ever got into. I think he's really accessible, which makes it strange that so few other people can quite match what he does.
Any chance “The Climb” (Feat. Thundercat) is a cover of the Miley classic?
Good point. It just struck me as weird since he didn't write or direct the movie.
How can this be "A Childish Gambino Film" if Hiro Murai is directing? I guess it's just for marketing purposes. Hiro Murai clearly isn't some journeyman director for hire.
I could really go for a new full length album from FlyLo this summer. That would really hit the spot.
This is a Guava-uh Don't catch you slippin on (Bananas!) Look what I'm whippin up (Cool delicious Mai Tai's all around!)
Couldn't agree more. I looked into any possible rumors that may have surfaced in the last few months but couldn't find anything. There's no album roll out I love more than Radiohead. Here's to hoping they pull an In Rainbows/The King of Limbs and just surprise announce it like a week before it comes out.
Okay, I know what Cameo is but when I read that headline I just assumed it meant "Ariel Pink is now going by the name 'On Cameo'"
"And against all odds they saw the glimmer of a faint sparkle in his eye. This truly would be a great summer."
Two more great songs. Can't wait for May 3rd
I wonder if Robin Pecknold will open for her at any of these shows like he did before Helplessness Blues and Crack-Up came out. He tested a lot of the material for both those albums during those opening gigs. Granted, this seems like different kind of tour. She may not even have an opener, Lord knows she doesn't need one.
We live in a world where the new Vampire Weekend album has a country duet and I'm pumped for it.
*VIVA la vida Though "Vic's La Vida" could be a pretty sweet Vic Mensa album.
Also, the trailer for Where The Wild Things Are used Wake Up and that came out about a year after Vic's La Vida and reminded everyone of Wake Up all over again.
Don't forget that Coldplay used this approach on Viva La Vida, which was clearly inspired by Funeral, and that song was huge. I feel like it was definitely post Viva La Vida when it started getting used EVERYWHERE.
Hey, Paul Thomas Anderson's films have lots of earnestness and heart!
And then There Will Be Blood, The Master, and Phantom Thread exist on an entirely different plane of excellence.
You're the Ed Wood of commenters and this is your Plan 9.
Tim Burton Hot Take: Big Fish isn't as good as people who think it's underrated think.

Hey man, that was the joke...
This isn't a diss track but it's fairly dismissive.
The Eraser is a fantastic album. Definitely worth a relisten.
I just don't understand how his schtick appeals to anybody. I like some of his songs but everything else is so insufferable. I don't care if he's commenting on celebrity or just giving into his id or trying to be funny or ironic or if he's high or if he's depressed or if he's just full of himself, whatever it is I just can't get past how annoying it is.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Coldplay was WAY better when they had a massive chip on their shoulder.
"I don't want any part of that. That's not how I want to be remembered" "Ladies and Gentlemen, put your hands together for MY MAN Chris Brown!"
Seriously guys, high school me just ran to the bathroom to cry tears of joy.
