Congratulations/Good Luck dude!
My child is going to be extremely predisposed to Taylor Swift, Kacey Musgraves and Brandi Carlisle, due to my wife's tastes. I am not complaining.
Hey everyone, this past Saturday I got possessed and finished, uploaded and published my demo on bandcamp ahead of its intended "release date". We are at the point where the baby could come any day, and I was afraid if I didn't get it out before then, I never would. I call it, d(ad)emo.

Enjoy, and DM me on Twitter (@ritvalmadness) if you want a DL code.
I’ve been thinking about Dad Rock a lot lately. I was prepared to write a short diatribe about how Dad Rock shouldn’t be constrained to Wilco and shit that sounds like the Eagles, but the more I searched for “Dad Rock” on Spotify, the more I saw that wasn’t necessary. Any rock that dads like is Dad Rock, from Nickleback to Japandroids. So with that, here is my working Nü Dådrokk playlist.

Millennials are dads now. We like emo (haven’t you heard?!? #WhenWeWereYoungFest :p)
Adele would have been a more apt ambassador for a day where record stores are flooded with releases that no one wants, clogging up plants for the artists that kept the format alive, ordered by the labels who left them for dead.
But hey, if Taylor can get the Swifties in stores to buy some novelty 12”s so the indie stores don’t lose money on them, I’m all for it
Also don’t take any investing advice from me, I spent way too much time today finishing my Jeff Rosenstock and Laura Stevenson rock opera playlist. I clearly need to find a more lucrative use for my time.

OSC’s Yume No Machi was a really fun instrumental ode to city pop. The vaporwave rules especially hard.
Also, the Mydreamfever (Parannoul) album that just came out is unfuckingbelievable. Solo piano with field recordings. It’s the most epic “ambient” album I think I’ve ever heard.
What’s up nerds. Last year I wrote a bunch of songs processing the feelings I had about becoming a dad. I ended up with two garage band demos, and two acoustic voice memos that I am reasonably proud of, and I finally worked up the nerve to put them on bandcamp. If any of y’all are curious, you can check em out here:

(Note: I made the bandcamp page back in 2014 when replacing vowels with v’s was still novel. I kept it because it makes me laugh and I think it works!)
I get more golden-age-of-Hollywood vibes than musical-theater energy but the latter is probably responsible for the former so *shrugs*
I liked the tune, didn’t love it, but I’m not worried.
Ladies, ladies, please. We are in a Pinegrove comment section. There’s plenty of bad taste to go around. Let us instead embrace what we all have in common; an affinity for boring guitar music that most people do not give a single solitary fuck about.
