“Ed Sheeran is kind of like millennial John Prine”
Housesitting for my parents this weekend so “I Don’t Live Here Anymore” has been hittin’ extra hard
“April sunset” just in time for Halloween lmao
What the good goddamn… Sadness just dropped ANOTHER album. That’s like 3 in two months.
Swap these three in for “He Said She Said” and “Good Girls” and now you got yourself a slasher flick. Great to hear them cranking out bangers again.
On my second listen now and… goddamn. It takes the thread left by “Naked in the River with the Creator” and then brings the pain. Great contrast between slow, meditative country rock-n-roll and doom metal. Between Greet Death, Wednesday, and now Spirit Was, country-doomgaze is becoming my favorite new micro-genre of indie rock. Album rules. The Trace Mountain album rules. I also went back to The Glow the other day and that album rules too. LVL UP forever 👾💜

I guess AG Cook already did that, he just released the career spanning rarities box set ahead of the debut album. ..
PC Music making its singer-songwriter era… you love to see it.
This kicks so hard
Shit, “Fewer Afraid” my b
Mom I think he’s having a stroke…
“Infinite Josh” and “Gentle Afraid” sound like they took the sounds of the Los Campesinos Christmas EP and stretched out to match () era Sigur Ros. Killer stuff. And I’m ass over elbow for Mercurial World too. It’s a headphone album with the hit rate and sequencing wizardry of E-MO-TION.
First dance to “Continuous Thunder” you won’t.
Yes. Make those bitches learn “Mr Brightside” instead.
Magdalena Bay brought the monster jams just in time for spooky season. Don’t sleep popheads and synth-nerds, or it might be your last 👻.

There is a s’mores joke to be made given the steady stream of singles and the campfire vibe/album art.
Every Big Thief album has had big “This is not even my final form” energy. They’re only getting better, and more interesting as they keep cranking out songs.
This sounds somewhere in between Saint Pepsi (Skylar Spence) and ABBA. Goddamn this album is going to be so much fun.
We don’t deserve either of them
The Hovvdy album is great because all the songs are great. Same goes for Ducks Ltd.
The Pains of Being Kvlt at Heart
Just listened to Sadness for the first time and it’s so goooood
I really liked that Vauruvã joint, but that led me to Kaatayra and… holy shit Kaatayra. That acoustic/Spanish guitar album especially bowled me over. The way it blends BM, dream pop, bossa nova and general tropicalia (idk what I mean but it makes sense to me) is… I’ve never heard anything like it.
I kept expecting them to shout out “IM WALKING ON SUNSHINEEEE OOHHHHH OH”. This is a good thing, IMO.
I will. But… I just want to listen to Iskandr and drink horns of mead with my Viking homies
I feel like it was about as good as a Spencer Krug or Dan Boeckner solo joint, except I’m not a very big Wolf Parade fan :/
Turnstile is a perfect wedding album.
Me amo la última canción pero there’s a little too much of a good thing going on in the back half of the album, for sure. That’s kind of why I was comparing it to Pageant Material, which also kind of sputters out beautifully at the end. They don’t call her Spacey Kacey for nothin!
Just saw the Kacey related disappointment in the SOTW thread. If you love Erika de Casier, you should give star-crossed (and Men I Trust, for that matter) another shot when you’re in that mood.
