OPN 4 life. So cool to see him step up to the plate in the pop big leagues and hit an absolute homer after years of being such a prolific (relative) outsider artist
Also there's a Benny Safdie voiceover cameo on Every Angel Is Terrifying. The continued Uncut Gems IRL collaborative universe is a beautiful thing. Praying for a Safdie's directed video featuring Julia Fox and maybe...Eric Bogosian?
Just finished a whole listen through. Wall to wall bangers and ear candy. I was hoping Daniel Lopatin would be a co-producer on a couple tracks but turns out he executive producer the damn thing with Abel and Max Martin. His fingerprints are all over and it fucking rules. Gasoline especially. I want to be uploaded into the singularity enveloped in these synths.
Really enjoying this so far. Burial's ambient leaning material is so enchanting and purposeful. Dude builds worlds between worlds and I feel lucky to find myself in these spaces. Definitely going to walk around in the snow listening to this on good headphones later tonight.
No hyperbole one of the most stunning music videos I have ever seen. The song is unsurprisingly great but I am so blown away by these visuals. The ghostly jellyfish of my dreams. I thought I recognized the castle type building at the end from a certain psych fantasy film from last year, and sure enough Nicholas Ashe Bateman is a David Lowery collaborator. Hope to see much more from him in the future.
This fest could not be more geared towards south eastern 28-48 year old WFH professionals with mortgages who like to recall the 6 months they considered dropping out of college to be full time artists until their parents set them straight one thanskgiving. Not that there's anything wrong with that!
The Anthem in DC has pulled off this concept pretty well. I was skeptical at first but I've seen some incredible shows there. Namely LCD Soundsystem and Fleet Foxes.
I'd go back and spin that record again if you haven't in awhile. It's a real grower. I love every track on that thing and Jason Lytle's production is fantastic.
Rivers has been on the record in regards to his obsessive pop music aspirations for like, 15 years now? This isn't new. He put himself under the bus a long time ago.
How come I haven't seen or heard any chatter in re: the new Felice Brothers record that came out today? The four singles they've put out are some of the best tunes I've heard in years and the rest of the album is just as good. The songwriting is stunning and all the Bright Eyes guys are on it. Run don't walk!
