This is some fine throwback jangly strummy indie pop. I could see this coming out on like K records in the 90's. But about that band name...

They also gave Bright Eyes exactly the same, 7.4. Hard to landing on that exact decimal twice accidentally. I suspect there's some kind of (dumb) in joke there about these dueling return albums from early 2000s indie darlings.

Not far off! I'm not saying I wouldn't have minded the attention of the prom queen. But if they come around late in senior year trying to squeeze in some extra curricular clubs or up the GPA , you know why they are really there. Same thing here, to strain this analogy to its breaking point.

Clarification: In my fictional scene, the chess club is saying that sentence that in the presence of the prom queen, reusing her own terminology to not have to embarrass her with a correction. It will make sense when you see the movie!

Yeah, that forced reading of BF as actually disappointed he wasn't born queer shoehorned into that review feels more like the author's personal fantasy than anything BF actually felt. Seasoned reviewers know not to mistake lyrics for autobiography, but often conveniently forget this when it might suit their agenda.

The question was whether or not that statement from Diamond Joe was an example of scaremongering. So I think we agree on that.

You can't fault her, she's a corporation and this is just the latest campaign. What's actually hilarious are lifelong indie fans defending her. It's like the chess club being giddy that the prom queen is suddenly hanging out with them. "She knows how the horsey moves, she's one of us!"

Hey, even I can see she did this purely out of the kindness of her own heart. There's literally no way that someone else could have signed these.

Let's hope this gets somewhere. LA needs a voice for this agenda as well. Maybe Beck or Dave Grohl have the clout though both seem to be mostly apolitical. (James looking good, a little less beefy these days.)

I don't know if it was so much a change in her, or the fact that every song on All Mirrors was co-written by this LA composer dude mostly known for video game music. An interesting choice but it definitely weighed down the album. She seems to acknowledge this by releasing stripped down versions.

Mr. Scott raises an interesting quandary: are there varying degrees to which something may be deemed fire? Can something be "a little fire" and "a lot fire"? Or is there just fire and non-fire, a binary quality? In which case, "very fire" would seem to be redundant.

This won't go to trial, but it would have been interesting to see if his lyrics were admitted into evidence as they have for some rap artists' trials. (Some here should just admit there's absolutely nothing he can do or say that would change their minds about him and move on.)

There really is no brilliant point. I just wanted to know if the person here whose mind was forever changed about her on the basis of these tweets actually believed that she herself wrote them. I singled out that particular long sentence, but really it's about both tweets. I thought it was a fair question given the impact these tweets are having on a personal and societal level.

I'm sure she's capable of it. I was asking if we truly believe that she alone sat down, thought of this and typed it. You would be hard pressed to find many 30+ word sentences in tweets from even the most established political commentators.
-22 |
August 16, 2020 on Taylor Swift Speaks Out Against “Trump’s Calculated Dismantling Of USPS”
Question: do you honestly believe that she sat down and typed this sentence on her Twitter account herself?: "Donald Trump’s ineffective leadership gravely worsened the crisis that we are in and he is now taking advantage of it to subvert and destroy our right to vote and vote safely. "

I'm in CA too. I'm comfortable with sensible returns to life with our numbers. 600k positive tests (1.5%/40mil) 11k attributed deaths (0.00028%/40mil) Are you as worked up over thousands of enclosed Walmarts, Home Depots and Costcos that are currently open as you are about a well controlled outdoor event? It seems like you are more upset that people may actually be enjoying themselves.

Well said. These people who are so vehemently against small returns to life don't seem all that bothered by very real harm being caused by shutdowns - depression, suicides, unemployment, lack of preventive medical care. You're either for life or against life, in all forms.
