You're late here, this "complex sentence" strawman has already been raised and addressed. The original question stands, if you would like to weigh in on that

Now we're getting closer - upvoted. (Of course it matters, and I agree with sentiment as well.)

Upvoted for at least understanding the question I was raising and the reason why. The amount of deflection by others toward what the question must mean instead of just answering the question was pretty telling.

I didn't say it was particularly advanced (or fancy or masculine, to address the other strawmen in this thread). I was asking if you believe that she personally wrote this.

I'm sure she's capable of it. I was asking if we truly believe that she alone sat down, thought of this and typed it. You would be hard pressed to find many 30+ word sentences in tweets from even the most established political commentators.

August 16, 2020 on Taylor Swift Speaks Out Against “Trump’s Calculated Dismantling Of USPS”
Question: do you honestly believe that she sat down and typed this sentence on her Twitter account herself?: "Donald Trump’s ineffective leadership gravely worsened the crisis that we are in and he is now taking advantage of it to subvert and destroy our right to vote and vote safely. "

I'm in CA too. I'm comfortable with sensible returns to life with our numbers. 600k positive tests (1.5%/40mil) 11k attributed deaths (0.00028%/40mil) Are you as worked up over thousands of enclosed Walmarts, Home Depots and Costcos that are currently open as you are about a well controlled outdoor event? It seems like you are more upset that people may actually be enjoying themselves.

Well said. These people who are so vehemently against small returns to life don't seem all that bothered by very real harm being caused by shutdowns - depression, suicides, unemployment, lack of preventive medical care. You're either for life or against life, in all forms.

Using all caps only makes your ridiculous assertions all the more visible. The numbers and trends are available for everyone to see and make decisions. But something tells me you have made up your mind and aren't interested in the latest information.

Could they have chosen a worse photo for her? They basically made an ad for the Right to play to their base . "This is the America the Democrats want: young ladies with painted hair looking drug addled and disaffected. Vote Trump!"

Nice piece. He's a cult hero, of course, but yet still some how underrated as an innovator. That 1st Modern Lovers LP changed rock n' roll.

It's annoying enough when someone is hovering over your shoulder while you're typing. Now imagine that person is hovering is present day Madonna... That huge sofa would seem to easily accommodate some distancing but I guess getting the shot for the 'gram is more important.

Mike Imperioli just seems like a cool guy. His incredible musical taste is surprising, though I have no idea why I would have assumed otherwise. Like he randomly just said on his IG that his favorite Smiths track is "Rubber Ring". He also spun a DJ set for NTS recently. And his IG shows he's the biggest Sopranos fan and he was a star of the damn thing.

The financial reality is movies need stars to open the box office and recoup millions before any profit. You can't plug in a relatively unknown Black actor who bears a closer resemblance and expect big box office returns. Saldana was in the biggest movie of all time and a regular in comic book movies. So the correct answer here is probably to have made no movie.

August 5, 2020 on Zoe Saldana Apologizes For Playing Nina Simone
This case is not even close to Mickey Rooney or Ben Stiller's absurd costumes. The quality of the movie is not a factor as casting precedes the execution; no one sets out to make a bad movie. Really though the family should have retained casting approval before cashing out her life rights.

Those early lockdown streams of him doing DCFC requests and choice covers really does feel like a lifetime ago. Those still might be the best at-home broadcasts out of all once since. (Sounds like a fun list to make; get on it Stereogum.) I don't think anyone went as long and as varied as he did. I was never really a huge fan but he won me over.

August 4, 2020 on Watch Ben Gibbard Cover John Fogerty’s “Centerfield” For Seattle Mariners Opening Day Ceremony
It is documented that every 1% increase in unemployment translates into 40,000 related deaths. Stats on suicides from depression and medically preventable deaths during the shutdown are trickling out and the medical literature will address this, if allowed. 1.5% is the current percentage of positive tests in the U.S. 4.8 million positives out of the 380 million population 3% of those 1.5% may die. (Herd immunity does not factor in currently and is not being counted on.) Considering this, the quickness with which you and many like you demand that the vast majority who will never get this thing to completely dismantle their lives is baffling. But I can't say I blame you since the media has inflamed this thing out of all proportion. You would think California has bodies piling up in the streets they way it is reported here, but it's 9,000 deaths in a population of 40 million (0.0002%). So when people want to get on with their lives (terribly, but understandably exemplified by this shitty rave) this is the statistical context to bear in mind.

I am curious: are you as angry over the actual thousands of deaths due to unemployment, suicide, delayed medical treatments, etc, resulting from lockdowns, as you are about a prospective 1.5% chance your mother may get this thing?

It's essentially virtue signaling. No one is demanding this. They know streaming pays jackshit and no one is buying any Avi physical product today. And they actually may be depriving the victim of a few bucks as she played on those early records.
