Built To Spill is my favorite post-90s band, and they don't tend to get a ton of pub here, so it's nice just reading the article and the comments from a few people who share the love.
These lists might as well be accompanied by a follow-up fan vote. More hits for Stereogum.com and a consensus from the readers to hopefully lessen the kvetching.
I'd pay 2$ for having read this post because it stimulated my brain nerves. Thank you to the participants and Stereogum.
I'll also try to go back and buy Yellow House, although it's always going to be a balance for me between wanting to pay what I think is fair, wanting to pay for music I really like and wanting to hear music I like as early as I possibly can.
I've lived in some decades where putting these pretty good 80s British bands above Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd would be laughable. We're not in one of those decades, but probably the next one.
Love Built To Spill. This kind of sounds like they should have played this live on an episode of Mario And Friends or whatever the live action Mario & Luigi variety show and cartoon was called.
I respect your opinion and style of posting it, but have wholeheartedly different tastes. I think these songs are awesome, and there's just no band I can think of that mixes guitar and keyboard rifs more amazingly. I also love Funeral over Neon Bible but would easily take Room On Fire over Is This It.
The sound hits the ear differently, but it's nice when someone can voice their criticism thoughtfully.
