She really is great. I wasn’t a huge WAP person but I always loved her other stuff. where do I start diving into Meg release-wise?

It’s so weird how he can’t think it’s good if so many people who have heard it think it’s a perfect LP.

September 28, 2020 on Idle Hands Changing Name Due To Trademark Law
This isn’t even about me liking IDLES cause god knows they can be hokey. BUT Giving white people within the cultural landscape the choice between “silence is violence” (making you the enemy) and “if you’re an outspoken ally then we will dissect and dismiss everything you say as an excuse to silence you or just write you off as an unnecessary part of the conversation” (making you a pariah to either be scoffed at or cancelled) and essentially no in-between for those people is a very quick way to demolish any sense of unity amongst the non-wealthy and ensure another 4 years of Trumps authoritarianism. Fuck you, Jazz.

Calling IDLES music/politics patronizing with the most gate-keeping, patronizing review of political music of all time. A music critic calling certain music “unnecessary”. Then what is a review? Less than.

September 25, 2020 on Van Morrison’s First Anti-Lockdown Anthem Is Here
New IDLES LP, Sign O’ The Times finally remastered and given the deluxe treatment, Tory Lanez drops a concert album about shooting Meg in the foot, and now this. I think this is the greatest day in music history?

Yeah dude no one feels bad for your virgin friends. Model Village is a good song. I can only speak through an American lens compared to the UK Class system and usually I am the first person to be like “hey we shouldn’t alienate Trump people and we should sympathize” but as much as your “assholes are everywhere” argument is true, I don’t think that song or band just attacks on dumb, poor whites. Another thing that’s massively important to note. Do you know how many model villages there are around UK/US? They’re not filled with poor people. For every town and city in the US that has been decimated by industrialization, lack of jobs, etc...there’s another that is doing just fine and everyone there is still a racist, sexist, simplistic because they are simply stupid, selfish and closed minded. So yeah. Fuck those people every day until I die.

September 23, 2020 on IDLES “Represent Everything That Is Wrong With Contemporary Cultural Politics” Says Fat White Family Frontman
IDLES didn’t even become much of a thing until all of the members were in their 30s. What lived in experience do they need to do? Cosplay as a poor, British farmer? All of these bands have been playing music and f—king around their whole lives. There’s nothing wrong with that but when you start hypocritically throwing shit like “you don’t know what it’s like” when clearly you as another band don’t either, then yeah...it’s just jealousy on their part sorry. This can all be boiled down too “ham fisted woke band got more popular than my less ham fisted woke band and I’m mad about it”.

He has it just wasn’t The Slow Rush. I’m just messing around mostly cause I got some Tame Impala vibes from Shore but I think it’s a much better album overall (and follow up to something like Currents) than TSR, which I still think is a solid LP anyway.

September 20, 2020 on Fleet Foxes Tease New Album Shore Out Tuesday
If there’s a new Fleet Foxes album right now, I will lose it. Robin is one of my favorite songwriters ever. The first release were a jam in high school and then Helplessness Blues dropped right at the end of it and became one of my favorite albums. Crack Up came at another tumultuous time in my life and delivered. I’m about two weeks away from moving out of state and by myself (both for the first time in my life) so if a new FF album drops right now, I don’t think I’ll be able to emotionally handle it.

I genuinely believe that in a few decades, social media will be socially considered a drug. How "online" you are (or essentially how much social media you're on) will essentially be looked at like an addiction. If you're on Twitter AND Facebook AND Reddit? That's a lot of drugs...

I know you're (only kind of) joking but honestly, the second the govt starts restricting our internet too much....people will bug out. The Internet has been the main thing keeping Americans complacent/satisfied this past decade but if you start taking away their favorite things, there will be a big blowback. Look what happened to Egypt when they banned their Internet. You can take away people rights...but their social media and porn? No effin way.
