I know they're probably not to people who read this site but the more time goes by, the more I think this band is one of the most underrated of my lifetime. Because everything they do is cool and unique and somehow they're not top line at major festivals yet. Anyway love this band, love Civilian
I love Double Negative so much. Looking forward to loving this one just as much
That's a solid "heck yeah" from me
Look. I'm not saying, I'm just saying: The start of the song is a bit abrupt and sounds like a transition from another track. I'M JUST SAYING.
Yeah, weird caching thing I think? Ctrl+F5 for us Windows normies forces a refresh and brings new posts up, but not sure why a regular ol' refresh isn't doing the trick lately
Damn. Just stuffing it full of the jams this week huh
Sometimes you just know when a song or album is going to stick with you forever, and Historian will be one of my all-time favorite albums until I expire
The last song I heard at the last show I went to pre-covid. This one hits.
Gem of an album. Fond memories of being behind Jenn (and Andy I think) in line for coffee at the Chelsea Market around 2013 and being too shy to thank them for how enjoyable I thought Civilian was. Jenn and Andy if you see this please accept my thanks now
Late hail mary addition here but Roosevelt's new album's got a number of bangers I think a few folks on here would dig
One of the realest. Tim Showalter-level interview here, awesome
Jenn Wasner, the great unifier
Very ambitious for a human to try and cover a song performed by alien robots, have to admire it
It's helpful to have the lyrics handy since some words can be a little hard to discern and they're all pretty important to the central theme: https://web.archive.org/web/20170520005747/http://antlersmusic.com/lyrics/hospice
Can't wait to play this album of lullabies for my kid this summer
Going from the absolute barest of bare with her first album all the way to this while making it look effortless...
Holy shit she's so good
3/3 in "wow, that's pretty" from the singles. Looking forward to this one big time
I like telling anyone who'll listen that Cristin and I did theater together back in high school, and you could tell even as a teenager that she was just Different from the rest of us in the best way. She played Eponine when we did Les Mis and it was truly like a pro on a HS stage. Glad she's getting more singing out there
Happy new year, you rascals
I'm still mad at the lyrics Matt Berninger was given to work with
Getting pretty strong Department of Eagles vibes from "One More Afternoon" and "On the Page," which is not I thing I think I expected to say about Maggie Rogers songs
Beans when I run a music festival, I'm hiring you to book

Love this album, love this band, love listening to music and feeling good
8 (circle) always struck me as a song that wouldn't be possible without Beth/Rest coming before it, and it has just the right remastering tweaks to the drama & emotion knobs. I'm sad to see it missed this cut but it's hard to argue with the ones that made it
Early suds? I guess it's time to crack open an ice cold bev
I realize TNOCS and classic 'Gum don't cross streams very often but I just wanted to pop in to say one thing: In a day or twoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
And from her Bandcamp: "It also marks a sonic shift, with the songwriter's intimate piano and guitar arrangements newly enriched by bass, drums, keyboards, banjo, and mandolin with nearly all of the instruments performed by Baker"
Julien Baker, But With Drums is as strong a tag line as you can write for me
Never in a million years would've thought to pair these two, but the original Love's Refrain is breathtaking and Julie Byrne is captivating so it turns out to be a pretty easy sell!
Always a good sign for the artist when a piece on their new music has to justify its own existence in the first couple sentences, and definitely an even better sign when one of those sentences still plainly says how bad it is
Middle School Me thought the chorus of Falls Apart was the most massive thing I'd ever heard
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! https://i.postimg.cc/T2WNgLw5/antlers.png
Looks like ol' Shane decided to do a Facebook link'n'login just to share his illuminating thoughts with us. Consider the privilege of his presence before calling him a troll
We must discuss. Is it a single? A Zoom performance with Ben and Jimmy? Actually an album?? This + The Antlers has been just a massive reunion day so far
They redesigned their website around this single too, and I'm not sure bands will do that for one-offs...are the Antlers really back??
Bartees Strange lured them back out with his "Epilogue" homage in "Mustang"
