Been rethinking this comment—don't think Lady Gaga would be financially insecure without touring—she probably made more money w/ A Star is Born than I will ever make. Get it more for Haim. I'm just not sure how much the success of touring is tied to proximity to album releases.
I think we are seeing artists divide into two camps here—those who care about the music more and those who care about the business. Unfortunately, Lady Gaga and Haim fall into the second camp.
Would love to be fully informed about what's going on here, but judging by the number of tweets, that will take upward of 30 minutes and I simply don't have the time. But I wills say: Grimes annoys me now to the point where I can barely enjoy her music.
