I'm not sure about Tidal - but you can follow friends on Apple Music. messaging is for sure not there, but I always know what my homies are listening to. also - sending Apple Music stuff through iMessage is pretty seamless and nice.
what people don’t realize about big thief is just when you think straightforward guitar singer-songwriter indie rock is dead, you’re reminded by a band like big thief that it will never die.
i got their entire discog added to my library now and will probably get through it by the end of the day tomorrow. at first blush, they kind of remind me of rex orange county? without all the happiness of course
it could possibly be the best of them all. actually moved the story forward in the most meaningful ways, and had a meta-commentary predicting why corny adults who wanted LS to be some sort of boss-ass Jedi would hate it.
I don’t think Kanye had fully adopted the Kardashian marketing strategy at that point tho. IIRC, kanye was pretty silent on social media throughout the yeezus rollout and it all happened in the matter of a couple weeks, which is practically the speed of light compared to TLOP and subsequent roll outs.
that BC, NR album is breathtakingly sad. dude quitting the band as it’s released just makes me want to show him love so so bad. hope he’s taking care of himself. the world truly loves you man.
ever since Ye beefed with Wiz Khalifa during TLOP, it hasn’t been the same, sadly. it is curious that TLOP was the first album where Kanye was officially WITH a kardashian.
as a side note, with each rollout, kanye pushes everyone further and further from his light, even if there is a fundamental humanist truth buried deep in the media circus he’s inciting.
i actually 100% disagree. you’re giving people way too much credit. people being distracted by whose right or wrong in this situation, including yourself, is the proof.
as the kardashians breed more and more, their net worth and assets grow. it is quite literally the most Machiavellian strategy history has ever witnessed.
curious how Kim views North’s Tik Tok as an extension of her brand/public persona which eventually drives more followers to her social media channels where she advertises/influences products. For fucks sake, Kyle and Travis Scott’s daughter is a bankable advertising channel for all of Travis Scott’s nikes collaborations.
stewart saying Rogan is not an ideologue, in the very least on vaccines, goes to show that Stewart doesn’t really know what he’s talking about here. the point on clapton tho is so true though.
i agree. sometimes things that seem inarguably corny at first become timeless in an earnest way. kiedis isn’t an amazing singer or anything, but he makes RHCP, RHCP. it’s impossible to think of the band without him.
beautiful record rendered at a heart breaking time in a bands history. the guy didn’t even really get to play these songs live! extricating this emotion and putting it all on display, without the world getting to show their emotional connection to the songs in a live setting back to him - heart wrenching. i wish this guy would have held on to at least see what these songs meant to the world in person.
i actually respect how far kiedis is willing to go with pushing his vocals into the territory of not being good but being fun for the 40 to 50 demo to sing along with.
all her records are great but she did something truly special on Saint Cloud. one of those albums where you fall in love with a different song every other week.
