I thought they were about to play "Love Song" by the Cure when "Painted Indian" started.
My favourite track from their new album is "The Missing".
My Is This It doesn't have "New York City Cops", it's on the other disc which is a DVD of their music videos. "Hard to Explain" is also my favourite Strokes song, but "Last Night" was the song that got me into them.
I have never listened to a single Bowie album (except for The Next Day) after Lets Dance because I had an understanding that those albums were awful. This list confirmed that for me. My five favourite in no order: Station to Station Low Hunky Dory "Heroes" Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)
This cover is a BIG no!
Woo, "Ego Free Sex Free", my favourite track off of the new Autre Ne Veut album.
I always forget how good of an actor David Bowie can be.
Wow, the days when there would only be +2 (thumbs up) for a comment.
It took me a while to get into Bjork. I used to watch her videos from her first three albums when I was a little kid, just saw them as entertaining. As a teen I though she was one of those artists that people made fun of. It wasn't until Medulla when I decided to actually check out her music and forget about her persona and antics. I have listened to and enjoyed many of her albums. I wouldn't say I'm a fan, but I do have a higher appreciation for her work. Here is my order: Enjoy a lot, maybe even a little love 01 Homogenic 02 Post 03 Medulla ----- Haven't given this much of a chance but enjoyed my handful of listens 04 Vespertine ----- Would just pick a couple tracks from these albums to listen to 05 Biophilia 06 Volta ----- Sorry everyone but this album just doesn't do it for me 07 Debut As for the soundtracks, I can't remember them, but Dancer in the Dark is a fantastic movie.
Say It was such a disappointing follow up to their great debut. This new track is giving me back my hope.
Does anyone else think they're turning Japanese? Haha, but yes, I like the new song.
I'm not a big enough fan to own a Tegan and Sara album, but I would own a greatest hits. I guess this list is the closest I'll get to a greatest hits. Unless anyone else has a few other "must have" tracks to suggest?
Did anyone else here think that Phoenix was bankrupt because of the thread title?
I feel that this could have easily been a Rihanna song. Hm, now all I can think about is Rihanna covering Purity Ring.
Why did Jay-Z do Beyonces encore?
Reminds me of a track that would have appeared on Radiohead's Amnesiac.
Ok, point taken people, you clearly love Loveless way more.
Am I the only person here who likes Isn't Anything more than Loveless?
That title sounds like a cheesy teen romance novel. I am happy for the new album though.
After my first listen I'd have to say "In Another Way" is the standout track.
Wow, Michael_ has it rough. Anyways, I'm getting the album now, so very exciting.
This new Knife song is fantastic. If you thought Silent Shout was spooky then this is terrifying. It's like you're in the mind of a serial killer.
This list needs some Technique. But I do agree Low-Life is their best album.
This doesn't sound like the band, sounds more like the solo work. It's a decent track though.
Ha, I remember these when I was in grade 4. I think they're illegal now.
This guy needs to release an album soon. All these singles he has made need a home.
I know I'm like years late on responding to this but I just wanted to say I think this track is wonderful. It starts off as a pretty nice ballad then towards the end of the song things being to sound more epic as it builds up. I'm really looking forward for his new album.
Although I believe your top pick was a poor poor choice (my least favourite 90's album from them) and Yoshimi is ridiculously low, I do love that Hit to Death in the Future Head is recognized as one of their great albums; "The Magician vs. the Headache", ugh, such an amazing track. The only two FL albums I haven't listened to are Oh My Gawd and Telepathic Surgery because I was always led to believe that they were so awful. Here would by my top 5 picks: The Soft Bulletin (also one of my favourite albums of all time) Hit to Death in the Future Head Transmission From the Satellite Heart Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Embryonic
Thumbs down for the Nickelback remark, Canada hates them the most.
Hipsters can't only like K-pop, we need to claim some American pop also.
My vote goes to "Under Your Spell" by Desire, although I like the album version better than the soundtrack one. liking the new Sally track, a lot more like the stuff from her debut.
Who would of ever thought. Surprisingly good. I knew you guys were following his tail for some reason.
Yeah, it's been like over a year for me now where that has happened. I thought it was just a thing this site did.
