I think it's more the venue having no idea what to do with them. First time I saw them was at a more atypical rock venue and it was a muddy mess. Agree the Centipede tour was much better, both with Deacon (I think thats who you met, Geo was on MPP) back on guitar and with the venue (or maybe the band?) having sorted out the mixing.
Something that I dont feel gets discussed enough is the fact thats it's the only AC album (aside from maybe Campfire?) that features Panda singing about half the songs, as opposed to the albums surrounding it (Strawberry Jam, Centipede) where he's only allotted two each. I think thats crucial to the success and quality because, let's face it, so many tracks of Avey's stream of conciousness jibber jabba kinda wears on you after a while.

But this isn't a unique opinion. Any time someone is accused of rape 90% of the comments are trying to defend the individual and justify the actions and blame the victim and raise the issue of false accusations (which are exceeeedingly rare) and expressing bizzare faith in the justice system (a system, where in the case of Brock Turner, where he was seen IN BROAD DAYLIGHT committing rape and gets three months jailtime) It's painful when it happens to someone you admire, I get it, but in these situations I always ask: if you hear a story about someone being raped, why does your sympathy immediately reach out to the accuser rather than the victim?
