I can't go outside without 25 layers of clothing on, let alone eat lunch outside :( Congratulations to everyone that doesn't have shitty winter, and congratulations to the people who got engaged. No sarcasmo!
After years of watching Top Model, how did I not know this existed? I mean, Tyra Banks makes it a point to brag about all her past career points throughout the show, so I'm not sure why this never came up during one of the models' acting challenges. Why hasn't Lindsay Lohan been a guest on Top Model? Why aren't they just creating a movie version of Modelland? So many questions.
TBS commercials are the absolute worst. That channel is my go-to background noise channel for Friends and Seinfeld, but they play the same terrible commercials for Cougar Town, King of the Nerds, and their sitcoms over and over and over again. I like their reruns and Conan, and was even entertained by King of the Nerds and some prank show they aired over the summer, but TBS Very Funny usually just means TBS Very Annoying. I am only part way through season 2 of Buffy, so I haven't seen the nerd from Men at Work yet.
TBS original programming (Men at Work, Ground Floor, Sullivan and Sons) makes me want to cry. It is so so so awful.
If I don't start moisturizing soon, I'm going to really regret it. My skin isn't super dry, but the wrinkles are coming! I will look at this story as making a profound change in my life by inspiring me to moisturize like an adult. My hands are insanely sensitive because I wash them so much. No matter how much I moisturize them, they still look like 90 year old lady hands, and usually look sunburned.
Does his preferred moisturizer make his skin all sparkly? That "vampire in the sun" glisten?
So I just read the synopsis for the Pretty One since I can't watch the trailer at work. It kind of sounds like that terrible Ringer show that was on a while back. Interesting concept, but sounds very weird.
Does anyone here like Modern Family? This week's episode was great. Every once in a while, they'll have a more serious or emotional storyline, and they handled Alex's so well.
I saw this today while I was folding laundry and getting ready for work. I thought, "I should find this online, and send it as a tip to videogum," but I figured the internet would probably be all over it, and I was also kind of sad from watching it. We were just talking about adopting a teenager - looks like these kids might be interested in a new home. We don't have any tv shows to offer them though.

I don't know Drake's music, but I do remember him from Degrassi. Does anyone know if the N network still exists? So many late nights watching so many bad sitcoms.

I love that he quoted Dazed and Confused. I sort of hate him, but I bet he's kind of a blast to hang out with. He was sitting with Julia Louise-Dreyfuss, and I would just love to sit there drinking with them.
I can't believe Maslany didn't win! I haven't seen House of Cards, so maybe Robin Wright's performance is great, but I doubt any female tv performance this year could top Maslany's in Orphan Black. Maybe she'll get it for season 2.
I would like to thank my DVR for allowing me to fast forward through the commercials and boring parts. Microwave, you were there for me to heat up a frozen pizza. And most of all I would like to thank my husband for watching this with me.
You can't just throw around Louboutins like that! Those shoes are insanely expensive!
But why would someone put garlic in their hair? Coconut oil makes sense at least.
Whoa! That's crazy. I remember going to a meeting at one of the offices, and it was ridiculous! It was at night, and there was a storm happening. A bunch of us sales kids were sitting in the room, and the lights went off. All of a sudden, "We Are the Champions" started playing while some bald guy walked to the front of the room. He was standing in front of the window and lighting was striking outside. It was a very odd scene. I assume that was supposed to motivate us, but nope. I'm also fairly certain I just left in the middle of that meeting, fed up with the nonsense. As I was backing out, I heard an awful scraping on my car. There was a pickup truck sort of blocking me in, and I didn't see the hitch he had on the back. It was either go back to the meeting or continue backing out, and get more scratches on my car. I chose the scratches.
Yep, it was Cutco. They did have quality knives, but I was too embarrassed to try to sell them to anyone I knew and I have always been terrible at sales. Not sure why I ever thought it would be a good idea. They really knew how to rope the kids in.
When I was in college, I needed a job, so I tried selling knives. My dad was the only person that bought anything from me.
I'm thinking the kids came up with the prices. Gwyneth would try to sell the lemonade on Goop for $500 per bottle.
When Sarah Michelle Gellar won an award for the show that she is currently on, she thanked that show and the cast, but then basically just talked about Buffy for the rest of the speech. I've only just begun watching Buffy, but I like her acknowledgement of a show she was on many years ago since I'm guessing she never won anything for that.
There were a lot of ugly outfits on this show. I guess the celebrities figure that no one is going to be watching, so they dig some dress or shirt out of the hamper and hope for the best.
I actually did watch this. It was only 2 hours. They didn't even mention half of these awards. Sometimes they would say something like - "By the way, congratulations to so and so for winning Best Whatever."
I'm more confused that Adam Sandler won an award :/
Yay, the dog finally pooped! My car won't start, so I might not be going to work tomorrow either. I'm going to crack and have at least a couple of cigarettes before this night is over. Can't wait until it's above zero at this point. It will be a heat wave!
"This is it! This is my chance to show the world I'm a STAR!" - that guy
It makes winter 500% more tolerable. If you remember to leave your defrost on, and the snow isn't TOO heavy, you can avoid scraping snow off your car and it is so great to only be freezing from house door to car door.
Our dog has to poop, but every time we bring her outside, she starts limping and wants to go right back in. I am very thankful that I have a job where I can work from home today. I do have to run errands at some point and that is probably going to be awful. At least this might be a good day to quit smoking since I have zero interest in spending 20 minutes putting on layers to spend 2 minutes having a cigarette.
You really should invest in a remote start. It will change your life!
Kelly, you should definitely watch Veronica Mars. Better yet, Videogum TV Club: Veronica Mars Edition? Then we can all watch it together like a family! Reruns will be airing in January on some channel called Pivot.
I saw Catching Fire and liked it a lot. Side Note: I know it could always be worse, but there is so much snow, and I know that at some point, I'm going to have to shovel some of it. Not looking forward to that.
Thank you. I would have done some research on my own, but didn't want to read spoilers.
Is Upstream Colors related to Primer in any way? I'm interested in both, but have been hearing so much about Upstream Colors that I think I would like to watch that first. It's not a sequel or part of a trilogy is it?
I just looked up The Great Beauty on IMDB since I had never heard of it. The director also directed the movie where Sean Penn is dressed up like Robert Smith from the Cure. I remember seeing so many pictures of him in costume here on Videogum, but apparently the Sean Penn movie was released two years ago.
I think I'm finally going to see Catching Fire this week - but that's not even on the list!
I didn't see any of these either. I would like to say it's because I'm too busy doing awesome things to make time to see movies, but I really don't have any excuse. :(
The Returned is on our DVR. Hopefully will be watching it soon.
