The two songs we’ve heard from Thee Oh Sees’ forthcoming Drop spanned a vast aesthetic distance; “Penetrating Eye” was a gnarly unhinged riff monster, while “The Lens” was a subdued and pretty psych ballad. “Drop,” the album’s title track, splits the difference, incorporating pop sensibilities and razor-sharp George Harrison guitar spasms into a hard-charging psych-punk sugar rush.   1. Jeez what a great song. The audio’s kind of crappy and thin, hoping that’s just the stream. But 1700+ listens on soundcloud and no comments? Seems kinda weird…
