When we covered Young Magic at Brooklyn’s Northside Festival last year, it was clear they could blend samples and loops with confidence. Now they’re getting ready to release their second album, a follow-up to the trippy sunniness of Melt. Their newest song, “Holographic,” opens with waves of harp before locking into a chilled, hypnotic groove. It brings up some of the same sighing, trancelike vibes that Cairbou gave us on Swim a few years back, and raises anticipation for what’s to come on the full-length. Listen to it below.
Breathing Statues is out 5/6 via Carpark Records.
