Paramore Performs On ABC's "Good Morning America"

Paramore is a fucking awesome band. If you can’t understand that, I don’t know what to tell you. They performed great songs they wrote on Good Morning America this morning — their top-10 smash “Ain’t It Fun” followed by mall-punk anthem “Misery Business” (with super-fan Christian Brown) and power-pop hit “Still Into You.” As always, they kicked ass. Here is video evidence.

  1. What has happened to the Stereogum I used to know and love?

  2. “Paramore is a fucking awesome band.”

  3. I love watching stereogum blow people’s minds by suggesting that an awesome band is in fact an awesome band.

  4. Is it possible to take poptimism too far? I say yes.

  5. What is with all these people filming the performances on their smartphones?

Couldn’t they all convene beforehand, set up a Whatsapp group, pull straws to determine who is the sole person responsible for filming the performance and subsequently responsible for posting it to the group instead of this LUNACY? Christ, I feel like I’m taking crazy pills here.

  6. Woah, this is weird.

On my way to work this morning I heard “Ain’t it Fun” for the first time on the radio. I didn’t know it was Paramore (i’m not much a fan), but I thought the song was great. For some reason I thought to myself “I bet that’s Hayley Williams singing.” I don’t know why THAT was the first person I thought of. Again, Paramore isn’t really my thing. Then when I got to work I find out that Paramore are just popping up everywhere online.

    • The point I meant to make – just goes to show how hard it is to close yourself from the viral nature of pop culture. It’s actually kind of scary, in a weird way.

  7. not afraid to admit for the type of music it is Paramore kicks ass and are major leaders. no shame in saying and admitting that if you can differentiate your music tastes instead of clumping them all together

  8. I’m guessing “Ain’t It Fun?” isn’t a Rocket from the Tombs/Dead Boys cover?
