Lana Del Rey owes a pretty significant chunk of her fame to an EDM remix of her “Summertime Sadness” which had nothing to do with the rest of her music but which hit huge anyway. Meanwhile, the Rhode Island producer AraabMuzik rose up out of the morass of mixtape-rap beatmakers largely thanks to his MPC-driven detonations of EDM anthems. Araab’s been working on his follow-up to 2013’s For Professional Use Only mixtape for a while now, and now he’s turned his attention to “Summertime Sadness,” throwing off-kilter drums all over it and making it sound like hell’s yawning maw, calling the result “Summer Time.” Listen to it below.
