It’s kinda funny: There are so many bands that you could describe with the term “PC worship,” but the actual Justin Frye-led band PC Worship is not one of them. They can be hard to pin down, but on “Rust,” the new single from PC Worship’s upcoming album, Social Rust, the band summon a hellish form of drone rock, as Frye’s deadpan vocals lurch along at a pace as methodical as the track’s marching drums and wailing strings. While all that sounds fairly disturbing, “Rust” rocks pretty hard; it’s the musical equivalent of a dead, stoned stare that you won’t mind locking eyes with. Listen below.
Social Rust is out 9/9 via Northern Spy/Dull Tools.
