Mary Timony, formerly of Autoclave and Helium and Wild Flag, now leads Ex Hex, a D.C.-based power trio whose sound is a badass, dizzily fun fusion of punk rock and power-pop, equal parts Ramones and Cheap Trick. We’ve posted their songs “Hot And Cold” and “Don’t Wanna Lose,” and those songs rule. Both will appear on Rips, the band’s debut album, which is coming this fall and which has more hooks than a bait and tackle shop. Another song that’ll show up on the album is the fast, giddy “Beast,” and you can hear that one below.
