Indie-rock OGs Half Japanese, 40-year pioneers of DIY and lo-fi, are releasing a new album called Overjoyed a couple weeks from now, their first in 13 years. “Our Love,” the album’s second single after “In Its Pull” (and the second song entitled “Our Love” to hit the internet this morning), is a jittery jolt of cheerily chiming nerve punk, bearing traces of peers the Clean and the Buzzcocks while maintaining a wildly positive disposition. It makes being in love sound like the most proudly defiant gesture possible, and shit, maybe it is. Listen below.
