Howlin Rain – “Wild Bush” (Stereogum Premiere)

Former Comets On Fire guitarist Ethan Miller’s longstanding folk-rock project Howlin Rain returns next year with Mansion Songs, the first in a trilogy of new albums. Today they’re sharing a new song from the project called “Wild Bush.” It’s a twangy, organ-laden stomper topped off with a humongous group singsong and some sterling lead guitar. It sounds like some lost psychedelic folk song from Dead’s heyday or maybe a playful composite of Nick Cave and Blitzen Trapper. Listen below.
