Mac Sabbath Is Our Generation's The Pizza Underground

With the Pizza Underground now a mere fossil in the internet’s craggy, meme-filled canyon, it’s time for something new to come along to satisfy our generation’s need for joke cover bands based on food puns. Enter Mac Sabbath, the self-professed “drive thru metal” Black Sabbath cover band. It looks like they — or at least their pun — have been kicking around as a Facebook page since 2012, but a string of live performances on the West Coast and a new video has brought them into the spotlight where they belong. They were even given a shoutout by Black Sabbath themselves. Fronted by Ronald Osbourne and a troupe made up of Grimalice, the Catburglar, and Slayer McCheeze, the band plays hits like “Pair-A-Buns” (“Paranoid”) and “Frying Pan” (“Iron Man”) complete with McDonalds-inspired lyrics. Look at some of their work below.
