New Order debuted a new song called “Plastic” on tour last summer, and today the studio version from the band’s new album Music Complete has emerged. It’s a trademark New Order track ramped up to pulse-racing speed, synth burbles threatening to boil over, guitar lines occasionally slicing through the mix. The breathy, sarcastic chorus: “It’s official/ You’re fantastic/ You’re so special/ So iconic.” La Roux provides backing vocals; listen below.
