Woods – “Know Your Minute” & Ultimate Painting – “Into The Darkness” (Stereogum Premiere)

DIY rock heroes Woods and Ultimate Painting are teaming up for a tour that launches this week, and to commemorate the occasion each band has shared a new song. Woods are offering up the snappy psych-pop track “Know Your Minute,” which sounds like a brilliant lost Zombies track, while Ultimate Painting’s “Into The Darkness” is a lovely post-punk slow jam that exists somewhere on the continuum from Velvet Underground to Wire to Pavement. The tracks will appear on a limited edition tour-only 7″ with the above artwork by Parquet Courts’ Andrew Savage. That’s limited to 1,000 copies, but “Know Your Minute” and “Into The Darkness” will also see digital release next month. In the meantime, check them out below.
