Chicago’s Slow Mass are set to release their monstrous new six-song EP Treasure Pains this September. Today, they shared “Dark Dark Energy,” the EP’s first single, and it absolutely rips. I perked up immediately upon the entry of eerie single-picked notes and was hooked by the time the full band entered. It’s a post-hardcore track somewhere in the vein of Shed-era Title Fight, with a perfect blend of harsh screams and melodic choruses. Check out “Dark Dark Energy” below.
