“Low Hey” is a pretty literal title for the track, as Chris Bathgate sings a mellow, soulful “heyyy ehhh” during the chorus. The latest from his album Dizzy Seas is a heaving, contemplative ballad that at times feels psychedelic and at other moments feels bluesy. Bathgate collaborated with fellow Michigan-based artist Tunde Olaniran, who coos on a chillingly reflective bridge (“So should I go back, make every deed correct, make every word perfect?”). Dizzy Seas is the fourth album from the folk singer-songwriter, following 2011’s Salt Year. Listen to “Low Hey” below.
