Cloud Nothings - "Didn't You" 7" Cover

Cleveland’s Dylan Baldi aka Cloud Nothings is chasing his worthy lo-fi eight-track debut Turning On with a summer 7″ “Didn’t You” b/w “Even If It Worked Out.” It’s the b-side that’s getting worked out on the blog circuit today, though one pass through its super hook and bratty rebuff (“I’m sorry we can’t be friends / my heart is over-rated / I don’t like being alone, but I don’t like being with you / Even if it worked out, I would wanna walk out”) will make you a) question its status as a b-side and b) restart it and put it on loop. Tossing off this one with quick-hitters like “Hey Cool Kid” and “Can’t Stay Awake” already under his belt, he’s sorta making this look easy.

The “Didn’t You” 7″ b/w “Even If It Worked Out” is out 6/24 via Old Flame Records. Hear “Didn’t You” at Hype Machine — after all that, yes it makes sense as an a-side, though “Even If It Worked Out” still hits me harder. This 7″ would pair well with “Bochica” off DOM’s Sun Bronzed Greek Gods; someone should probably book them a tour together.
