Fucked Up - Queen Of Hearts

On their excellent, highly listenable “rock opera” David Comes To Life, Fucked Up continue to expand and add layers while remaining true to their original core. Outside the sound, I like that since their beginning they’ve meshed fact, myth, and quasi-fiction into an overall conceptual arc — see, for instance, the previous “David” songs/titles and this 2007 interview I did with 10,000 Marbles where he pretended he worked a light bulb factory, the job “David” has on the new record. Or just take a listen to the fourth and final pre-release single “Queen Of Hearts.”
